Chapter 8:  Gatsby explains the importance of his history with Daisy. Nick spends time with Gatsby while being concerned about Gatsby's safety. George Wilson thinks Gatsby killed Myrtle, so he finds Gatsby, and kills him and himself.

Chapter 6: A news reporter interviews Nick and Gatsby about Gatsby's history to clear up some rumours. Gatsby reveals that he used to be a janitor, but luckily was able to work on a ship, where the owner Dan Cody teaches him valuable life lessons that later motivate him to work for his own wealth. Tom gets jealous when he finds out about Gatsby knowing and meeting Daisy, Daisy defends Gatsby when Tom talks about him behind his back. Gatsby wants to return the history, but Nick starts to notice negative energy.
Chapter 7: Daisy invites Gatsby, Nick and Jordan to have lunch with Tom. Tom realizes that Daisy and Gatsby have something going on and starts acting like a snob. They go to New York, where they have a big argument and Gatsby reveals his relationship with Daisy. Daisy discloses that she loves both men. Everyone storms off and Daisy accidentally runs over Tom's mistress and kills her.
Chapter 8: Nick suggests that Gatsby leaves the town. Gatsby reveals the story of his past - Daisy and Gatsby had been intimate with each other and it bonded him feeling "married to her." Nick slowly heads to his train. He doesn't want to leave Gatsby. Nick later phones Gatsby and, unable to reach him, decides to head home early. The evening before, in the valley of ashes, George Wilson acts crazy when Michaelis tries to talk to him. When he returns four hours later, Wilson is gone. Meanwhile he is at Gatsby's house. Chapter 2: Nick unwillingly meets Toms's mistress Myrtle during their trip to New York at a random stop between West Egg and New York. He ends up going to New York with both of them, is pressured into going to a small party of theirs. They drink, smoke, and argue, but the night ends multiple hours later because of an argument during which Tom breaks and splits open Myrtle’s nose because she could not keep Daisy's name out of her mouth.
Chapter 3: Nick describes the preparation process for the party at Gatsby’s mansion. He receives an invite and goes there. He is surprised by the fascinating things happening there, but Nick meets Jordan and spends the night with her because he feels more comfortable with her. He unknowingly meets Gatsby, and they become friends. Nick continues to work and study by himself in New York, and he meets up with Jordan so much that they both start developing feelings for each other, but Nick is not ready to make it serious.
Chapter 4: Gatsby takes Nick out for lunch in New York. On the way there, he reveals multiple things about his past - war, family, and wealth. There is an important point, but he leaves it for Jordan Barker to tell. After lunch with Gatsby's friend, Nick meets Jordan. She tells him that Gatsby and Daisy used to have a relationship before the war and Gatbsy wants to relight the fire with the help of Nick. Nick and Jordan's love continues to grow.
Chapter 5: Nick agrees to invite Daisy for tea. Gatsby prepares both properties for the visit. Gatsby is very nervous but still meets up with his old love. At first, everyone is embarrassed, but soon enough, the two lovebirds are comfortable in each other's presence and go for a tour of Gatsby's mansion. Both show affection to each other.

On the way home, Daisy kills Myrtle by running her over with her car. Nick thinks the romance between Gatsby and Daisy is over, but Gatsby is determined to make it work.
Chapter 8: Gatsby explains why his history with Daisy is so important to him by telling a story that happened years ago. Nick spends time with Gatsby because he is concerned about Gatsby's safety. When saying goodbyes, Nick tells him a memorable compliment. George Wilson thinks Gatsby killed Myrtle because he owns the yellow car, so he finds Gatsby, and kills him and himself.
Chaper 9: Nick meets Gatsby's father - Henry C. Gatz. They prepare everything for the funeral, but nobody except for Gatsby's workers, and Owl-Eyes ends up attending. Nick goes back to his family and leaves Long island. He breaks up with Jordan and runs into Tom in New York. Chapter 3: Nick is not comfortable in big crowds and is not as familiar with the wealthy lifestyle. He spends lots of time studying and working to pursue his dream and not disappoint his father. He develops feelings for Jordan but does not want to be in a relationship with her. Jordan is understanding and makes Nick feel safe. She is well-liked and kind. She also has developed feelings for Nick. Gatsby is trying his best to stay under the radar, he is friendly and busy.
Chapter 4: Nick learns about Gatsby's history and is very intrigued by it.  He also finds out that Gatsby used to be Daisy's lover before her marriage and wants Nick to be the reason they accidentaly meet. Nick develops deeper feelings for Jordan.
Chapter 5: Nick continues to see Gatsby's vulnerable side. Gatsby wants to pay back Nick for helping reunite him and Daisy by giving him a business, but Nick declines because he does not want to feel like he is selling him time with Daisy. Daisy is happy to meet Gatsby and soon they feel more comfortable than ever in each other's presence. Love is in the air.
Chapter 6: Gatsby has learned valuable life lessons throughout his life that motivated him to work hard and earn his wealth. Tom is really jealous of Gatsby because of his friendship with Daisy. Tom does not like Gatsby, but Daisy defends him. Nick starts to notice bad energy when Gatsby reveals that he wants to get Daisy back.
Chapter 7:
Gatsby becomes very desperate to claim Daisy as his. Daisy reveals that she loves both - Tom and Gatsby. Tom gets very vulnerable, but gatsby remains very confident in his plan to retrieve Daisy.
Chapter 8:
More information is revealed about Gatsby and Daisy's love story from Gatsby's point of view. When Gatsby says Daisy is his dream, he mixes up wealth and Daisy. Nick and Gatsby were truly best friends. George Wilson deeply loved Myrtle so much that he avenged her.
Chapter 9:
Meyer Wolfsheim started Gatsby in business. But, even though they were best friends, Wolfsheim does not attend Gatsby's funeral. Gatsby's father - Henry C. Gatz, was very proud of his son's accomplishments. He reveals that Gatsby kept himself well-disciplined and worked towards his dreams. Jordan was genuinely hurt by Nick breaking up with her.
