Barn owls (nocturnal) are the most wildly distributed species of owls on Earth. They feed on rodents, voles, mice, small rats, shrews, young rabbits, and other mammals. They’re pale with dark eyes. They have a mix of buff and gray on their head, back, and upper wings. They have a white face. Their population is stable (not a concern) but on a local scale, they are becoming extinct because there are changes in agricultural(farming) practices as modern farms replace old structures they used to live in.

The Northern Long Eared Bat by Isabella Seery
The long eared bat (nocturnal) is a small Eurasian insect eating bat. They eat moths, flies, leafhoppers, caddieflies, and beetles. They eat them using echo location. It has big ears that stick out (take a look at the picture!) This bat is an endangered species because it is impacted by the disease called White-Nose syndrome. This syndrome is an emergent disease that affects the skin, muzzle, ears, and wings of bats. This disease ingests the skin of bats, including their wings using up their limited fat which is stored during winter time. The spread of this disease has caused them to be on the list of endangered species because the disease spreads fast.

Thought to have descended from the African wildcat, the domestic cat can be traced all the way back to ancient Egypt 4,000 years ago. By helping to reduce disease and protect crops, cats were regarded as sacred creatures by the Egyptians.

The color of a cat depends completely on genetics. The two primary colors in cats are black and red. Every other shade is a variation of those colors, except for white.

Indoor cats live for about 10 to 15 years, while outdoor cats primarily life for 2 to 5 years. However, different breeds may live for longer than others.
