I rather listen to The Declaration of Independence rather than reading it because you are able to hear a different tone of voice than from your own. Also they are able to pronoun all the words that I am not able too. My favorite part of The Declaration of Independence is the last paragraph where they sum up everything that they previously talked about. It uses the word "we" so it makes us feel involved like we are.

I do not support an amendment that burning a flag is unconstitutional because the American flag stands for us Americans. It is very disrespectful to burn a flag that people in your country have died for. Johnson should have not have burn the flag because he was angry or upset just to get others attention.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

1. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is about a young man named Jefferson Smith that is appointed a new United States Senator, and his guide is Joseph Paine which knew Jefferson's Smith father. Jefferson Smith wanted to start a bill that involved building a boys’ campsite. Paine tried to blame Smith for everything and hoped that it would get Smith to leave the Senate. Smith cared very much about what he wanted and stood up and talked about it for over 24 hours and he ended up passing out. At the end Joseph Paine came out and said that he was the one making up things about Smith trying to get him off the Senate and it was a happy ending.
2. I believe that Mr. Smith was a republican because he came from a smaller town, and he seemed conservative at first. Mr. Smith was able to show what he believed strongly about though and that could be either Democratic or Republican. I feel that Mr. Smith would continue on into politics because after those brutal 24 hours the end result was worth it, that the house saw that he wasn’t lying and he was a honest and truthful man. Mr. Smith would most likely be a republican today based on the social dynamics of how we live. I’ve notice that where you live depends on whether you are Democratic or Republican and most people in Rochester are Republican.
3.Jefferson Smith and Dick Durbin are both senators, even though Dick Durbin is a democrat while I think Jefferson Smith is a Republican. Jefferson Smith is much younger than Dick Durbin is and doesn’t have as much political background as he does. Jefferson Smith was head of the Boys Rangers which made him think of the great idea to make a campsite for the boys to go too. Dick Durbin was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, he has been in many different groups, and has run for many different roles. Durbin and Smith both have the personality that when tough times come around they have to put their best foot forward and fight. Also when they have a idea, they fight for what they believe in. Dick Durbin also is wanting to better education which is similar to Jefferson Smith and him wanting to make a campsite for the boys. https://ballotpedia.org/Dick_Durbin
