Q1:
That's the beauty of qualitative.
Q4:
Mengaitkan tema yang diperolehi dengan teori.
Q5:
Penerokaan yang mendalam dalam QR membuka minda saya untuk meneroka aspek yang tidak pernah saya terfikir sebelum ini terutama dalam perspektif pelajar sendiri dalam sistem pendidikan.

Nadya
Q1 : is an approach whereby a researcher wants to seek in-depth information and knowledge of an issue. this approach is applied also to see an issue from another lenses or perspectives. normally a study established under this approach requires more time to be carried out.

Q2 : i enjoy collecting my qualitative data particularly through focus group and interviews because i can get the individual essence of opinions of an issue. as a qualitative research i always bear in mind that i should not be expecting any particular directions of response from my interviewees (in my case) because individuals might have differing opinions from what the generalization is claiming. my experiences are always eye-opener. reviving and interesting!

Q3 : in decoding and encoding. finding appropriate themes and sub themes (be it emergent or not). it is quite difficult to decode our collected data. i have fear of miss-decoding it. since we individuals have our own lenses.

Q4: approaches in qualitative analysis. id guess i must do more reading on this.

Q5 : this course has been a tremendously helpful for a postgraduate student like me. it touches on everything about Qualitative Research. not all postgraduates (like me) can learn on our own. we still need some guides in executing a Ql Research.
i would recommend it to be taken during the earlier semester of one's studies (or at least allowed to do so) because it opens up future Ql researchers to interesting doors of Ql Research. Tq Dr Sarimah for your perseverance in mentoring us!

Q1: Is a research design that allow researcher to explore and get deeper understanding about the interested issues. When researcher applied qualitative research for their study we will automatically know that researchers are not aimed to "generalize" but they aimed to "understand" more about the issues that have been studied.

Q2: I felt that it is not enough if we only carried out one time interview section with our respondent especially when we are using social media to collect data, because respondent tend to online search for the information and give researcher the answer that we wish. Besides that,I experience that we unable to read respondent's body language when we are using social media to collect data. However, after few time of interview section, i can felt that respondents become more relax and not too stressful, they will like get used to it and respond to my question sincerely and naturally.

Q3: I learned that there are few step that we must follow when we are doing data analysis for qualitative research. 1st, we must read and re-read again and again our data. 2nd, is a coding process. After that we come out with overarching theme, theme and sub-theme.

Q4: In studying qualitative research, the part that most confusing me was data analysis. I well know about the step that i have to follow when analyzing the qualitative data but i felt scared when do it in my research because it request us to really understand the data and we need to throw out our prior knowledge about the issues which mean we cannot used our own lens in viewing the data but try to used respondents lens in viewing the issues. This is most challenging for me.

Q5: From this course, i get an idea to expand more on my research question. Data that i gather in this assignment allow me to create more research question for my project paper later.

1. Qualitative data analysis is a method use to analyze qualitative data.It uses the interpretivist philosophy where the aim is to understand people other than positivist approch that aim to make general statement on population being studied.Apart from that, qualitative data helps to understand that each and every individual is unique and have their own experience.

2. My experience when collecting qualitative data is at first it was quite confusing and I thought we must make sure that for instance all our interview questions should be put together. However, as I learn more, actually we can probe when doing interviews and we can go back and reinterview the participants in order to seek clarification.I had always thought that it is a fixed method but I realise that collecting qualitative data require the researcher to be more flexible and more understanding as researcher in qualitative research is known as researcher as human instruments

3. Qualitative data analysis require us to look back at our research questions and from that we can come up with themes based on the data we collected. For instance, when doing interview, we need to transcribe it and find the theme that emerge from the interview so that we can answer the research questions

4. Thing that confuse me is on how to write the literature review.Although I have topic but to come up with the framework to limit the study is quite difficult.Apart from that, I find it hard to distinguish what should be in introduction and literature review.

5.This whole thing actually help me a lot in rethinking about my master dissertation.Since I have been working on it since last semester, I think it is only this semester that I can see and evaluate the title of my project and whether I should go on with it or change it.However, I really hope that I can continue with the same topic and just alter , adapt and adopt the approach. Therefore, I find that I should read more to gain in depth understanding of my topic
