I also recalled that another teacher has students share their journal entries with the class and that motivates them to write fun things.  I think this would help with seeing different points of view.

Schools were used to keep the working class in the working class and the dominant class in management and other types of positions to be over the working class. I want to make sure I re-evaluate my teaching. I want to make sure I have the same expectations for all students and not help or hinder anyone based on SES level or any other factor.
