Glasgow Guarantee - Glasgow Care Leavers are eligible for GG, even if they live outside of the boundary as long as they are engaged with care services and social work can verify their status.

To support Care Leavers when registering, we would ask if they live outside Glasgow to use the postcode G4 0PX and select Martyrs School as the address - this will allow the candidate to get past the postcode checker and we can manually change their address once we receive proof of their outside Glasgow address. If they are a school leaver, they can select their school from the dropdown list. If they are unemployed/underemployed, they should select their referring agency.

If the referral is made by a Social Work project e.g. Launchpad, we can use this to verify the person is a care leaver. If a non-Social Work project refer e.g. SDS, we would ask for an email to be sent to guarantee@glasgow.gov.uk from their Social Worker to confirm they are under GCC care services. The young person should tick they are care experienced when registering so we know whether to check for this or not.

Proof of address and proof of right to work would still be required to be uploaded.

We hope this workaround will ease the registration process for Care Leavers, however if you come across any issues please just get back in touch and we will do everything we can to support the young person to get an account. guarantee@glasgow.gov.uk
