         <description><![CDATA[<div>Belize was originally (a part of) a Mayan country but in the 1800's it was disputed over by Britain and Spain. However in 1854 it officially became the colony of British Honduras. More territorial disputes arose between the UK and Guatemala and that delayed the birth of Belize until 1981.</div>]]></description>
