However, it can be argued that wether or not the leader has the right mindset, we will improve, and it only matters how much the leader will lead us. But if the leader has bad intentions, we will not move on, and our society will become corrupt.

2. We might easily be manipulated during a time of war. During the time of war, we might be so desperate for help, that we would trust anyone, not caring about who they are as long as they could get us out of horrible situations. However, this might even lead us to worse situations.

2) In general, manipulating people under emotions is easy. In this case, war brings out the desperation and vulnerability in people. A leader can have 2 effects on people, he may be encouraging and help his followers through troubles and make the correct decisions and protect their followers or the opposite, using followers to get what they need and abandon the purpose of being a leader. The government has its ways to pursue people, they can use propaganda and commercials that lure people into a trap. This has happened before during WW2 when propaganda convinced men that going to war has heroic but all they got back was death. Sometimes it doesn't have to be the government, Hitler convinced many german men to join his beliefs and become Nazis. The population can be pursued easily because when you see someone that has more power than you, you would feel comfortable following that person. This is basically how the government works, it's just a name given to a group of people that are not different to you. The problem is that we don't know what their intentions are.

2) Like I said before, manipulating people is easy if you are as powerful as the government and when it is in the time of war manipulating people becomes easier because the people are desperate for help. If the propaganda uses the right words and thought many men would come russian to the army. Under the right circumstances, people will go to great lengths if they are being empowered by a important political leader and this is due to many reasons. Firstly, if the figure is well known across the country and often displayed in good light (i.e. Winston Churchill), soldiers will be more optimistic about being called up to war and this will vanquish the use of advertisement (propaganda) which usually has low success rates, and this will in turn help the country as they will have a more expansive force at their hands making wars easier to combat. Another reason is that if this leader is experienced and has led the nation's forces into war before and come out with a positive result, this will allow people to feel more relaxed as well as eager to enroll in the war as they know there is factual evidence from past wars on their side so they won't be as scared of death (even though there is a high death rate in war but people tend to ignore that because they usually focus on the brighter aesthetics of war) and will be more willing to go, thus increasing the chance of a victorious outcome.    

2. Manipulation plays a key part it most wars, whether is for the opposing or the home side. In WW2 double agents were quite common (Fun fact- when double agents were exposed they kept a cyanide pill on them so they couldn't be interrogated and these pills killed them instantly. Talk about loyalty) and this resulted in countries always being 2 steps ahead of the opposition. The main reasons for this were usually corruption, bribery or scandal This made a lot of leaders untrustworthy, yet profitable. Evidence of this can still be seen today by war torn countries and developing countries.

1)Leaders are people with power which have the ability to influence and control others. Some leaders are concern about the well being of their people such as Abraham Lincoln and others do this for their personal interest such as Robert Mugabe. Therefore it depends on the sort of leaders that is ruling. If they have good plans for their people they would thrive and would go a long way. This is because the leaders would come out with good plans and actions for their country such a good economic policy which covers plans for jobs creation, education, infrastructure and so on. Examples of a country with a good leader are Finland and Singapore. On the other hand if the leader is selfish the people of the country will go to poverty. An example of a country with a bad leader with a bad economic policy is Malawi.

2)It would be quite easy to manipulate or influence someone during a time of war. First of all, the country won't have much resources during a time of war such as food, water, medical supplies and also security. So with these type of situations it would be easy to influence someone. For example during World War 1 women would be asked to work in the factories, collect and grow food and men were asked to fight for their country. The leaders of the country influence their people by creating strong nationalism sentiments. All this could be the interest for the leaders.

But in other cases, they can tear a country apart. A good example would be Syria. It really depends on the leader's intentions. A good leader who has good intentions can really take his country far and inspire their people to do good. The leader would have fair laws, and good economic plan(policy). People, in turn, would have more money in their banks making them like their leader even more. A good leader would also be someone that listens to his people. Examples of good leaders are people like Nelson Mandela who fought hard for their country and shaped their country in various ways.

2) During a time of war being manipulated becomes very easy. People are desperate for help and scared. People will do anything to be safe, and the government could create so much money because of this. Not just the government could male money of this. If you believe in him and what he thinks I believe you will be loyal to him to the very end as you share the same beliefs and you would naturally do whatever you can to make that thought or action happen. However if you don't believe in your leader or do not agree with what he thinks. I believe that you will always have a thought of hesitation whenever you are asked to help or do anything that will have an impact. It is very hard to follow someone who doesn't support your thoughts or actions as you wont agree with them and you wont try your best to get his point across. You would most likely end up hating this person as they are doing the opposite of what you want.

How far we follow a leader depends on our loyalty. By definition, loyalty is our willingness to follow an order we do not see the sense in, as any order we understand we would follow. This is because one that makes sense to us we would order ourselves to do. Our loyalty depends on many things such as our belief and trust in a leader, our belief in any ideology we fight for, and our reason to fight - be it out of pure devotion to an ideology, for payment and power, recognition and fame or otherwise. These and other factors will dictate how far we will follow a leader, as they affect that leader's influence over us. If you are following a leader for a small amount of money that does not motivate you then you will not follow them far. If you are fanatically devoted to a leader or cause you may follow them to the death.

2. War makes people easy to manipulate people as it makes them desperate. Fear, desperation and other emotions make people easy to manipulate, as leaders can deliver promises to rid them of these. For example, when people are scared of immigration they may be convinced to attacking migrants and rallying against them - not out of hate, but out of fear. War changes the mentality of people and makes them much less rational. A level-headed leader can easily take advantage of this. However, this same fear can make people be the opposite, such as soldiers deserting a battlefield out of fear for their lives. The skill in being a manipulating commander is to use these emotions for gain, and this has been done many times in history. Desperate people want a cause they can rally behind with other people, and a leader offers this cause.

How far a country will go depends on the kind of leader they have chosen either someone who corrupts the country by manipulating the people for his own needs or someone who believes in the country with great devotion. A great example is the Singapore prime minister Lee Kuan Yew, he had gained the trust of his country and changed it into one of the richest countries in the world even with the odds aginst him.
If people choose the right leaders who plan to earn greater economic plan, infrastructure, government etc.. But if a country ends up with a corrupt or selfish leader it usually ends into making their country a lot worse. In other words, I believe that only if people follow great leaders with all their loyalty, then their only limit is the sky. 

2.During the war people are scared and this causes them to be easily manipulated by corrupt leaders as I have said before. People usually lose focus of their main goal for their country and start to greed for more power, which also leads to more fighting. For example, France was a strong country during WW1 but lost their intentions due to Nationalism for their land Alsace- Loraine.
