It was the 3rd biggest hurricane in America.Hurricane Katrina happened on August 28th 2005 and ended on 31st August 2005. It took $108 billion dollars to rebuild everything that got ruined. Lots of houses and businesses were destroyed and many people lost loved ones. Lots of flooding happened and if houses didn't get ruined by the hurricane they probably got flooded. Most places in New Orleans had 20 ft deep water from the flooding. Afghanistan, Albania, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, The Bahamas, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium and Cambodia all helped somehow to rebuild all these destroyed cities either by giving money or offering to help. The military relief effort, were lead by General Russel L. Honoré, Leader of the US oldest and longest army. After President Bush take to the U.S. Senate, they quickly said yes to $10.5 billion in help for victims. President Bush asked for an additional $51.8 billion on 7 September. The council approved that funding the next day.
