A comfort left behind to explore 

Lines that follow, straight and true 

But the image presented is stiff and unsure

But the jacket has gone cold

Warmth and comfort no more

Still lost and confused

More lines are explored

But occasionally I feel 

For the softness in my sleeves

And remember the warmth of fleece

Shopping in Singapore is such a hassle

Far too many clothes have some random tassel

Ruffles and frills, a constant strife

Slits and short skirts are the banes of my life

Colours are always black or dull grey

And colours that look nice get dry cleaned away. 

Sizes don’t fit, zips catch their zipper

Seams rip and pockets could always be deeper

Makes you wonder at the end of it all-

Why look cool when walking down a school hall?

But then….

Each piece of clothing a piece of expression,

A roaring display of a feeling’s complexion

Whether a t-shirt or stiletto heel 

Every item has some form of appeal

Machine or hand stitched, a source of pride

For everyone who wears them at least once in their life.

So next time you think that you’ve dressed up a lot.

And you think people will laugh at the style that you’ve got

Remember to showcase your personal flair

And tell your story with whatever you wear.

But who am I when the chain is broken?

With this crown, I am bold,

But without it, I am barren and foreign

in my own skin, an emptiness in the air—

Sometimes I forget that I am here.

yet there it was -

something that caught my eye

amongst the forest of monotonous colours

My favourite part is the credit.

Most people would skip that part.
