Prevention is the key to fend off getting Lyme disease. Just getting a tick bite does not guarantee you are going to get Lyme disease. You have plenty of time you have thirty-six to forty eight hours after a tick bites you before they transmit Lyme disease. If you find a tick on you you should remove it immediately with tweezers as close to head of the tick's head as possible. Once removed you should save it if you should have to go to the doctor for Identification purposes. Also, When you let your pet go outside check them for ticks too. They can carry ticks into the house.
