Teasing, fighting, calling each other names, was the language of affection at that point.

Neither aware nor open to the idea that they could have mutual feelings for each other, it took days and plenty of miscommunication to figure out that, indeed, the two were just oblivious. Yibo's first boyfriend, first hopefully long-term relationship, second relationship ever, in which he had to prove that he is capable of pleasing not only himself, but someone else as well.

Yibo has determined to give this relationship his all. The married life was even better. Therefore, after Yibo's graduation, after he got his first real job as a translator in a small Japanese company. That company grew with Yibo single-handedly carrying the department of foreign matters. With his and his husband's salary, they were well-off and ready to expand their little family.

And they adopted a beautiful, two year old baby boy, whom they named Wang Sizhui. Life was good. Life was perfect.

On the outside...

For as long as he could, Yibo tried to keep his parents' dismay of his relationship to himself. They refused to come to his wedding and ever since devoted themselves to the denial of Yibo's husband's entire existence. Yibo was still single in their eyes, therefore the arranged blind dates kept coming. It kept Yibo's parents at bay, and as long as he could keep the peace, he would humour the set up ladies on boring dinner dates, instead of spending time with his family.

Naturally, that became too much. Too much to the point of causing Yibo's grandma's health to turn for the worse. When grandma Wang passed, Yibo's whole world turned upside down and the real shit hit the fan.

His grandma passed, his husband filed for divorce, his parents demanded him to return home and help with the arrangements and the grandpa.

Living with his parents again as an adult with a "family of his own", he realized what a big mistake he had made. He left. He pushed them away and left, like a coward. Like his own parents when he was born, handing him to the grandparents to take care of him. And where did it got him? If it weren't for his grandparents, he wouldn't be able to have any of what he had with Zhan for years. And he was grateful for that.

As the final thank you to his late grandmother and his elderly grandfather that gave him all their love, Yibo decided to flip the bird at his parents and move. He'd return the love of his grandparents by being the best father little Sizhui could have asked for.

As for Zhan, Yibo was going to apologize. Promise to stay and help. With his still present feelings for the elder, he still hoped, but with the way he behaved, he knew there wasn't much chance of mending things.
