I used to like ride in a boat since you can have a good view of the sea but not anymore because the limitations that u have right now.
Now with the pandemic you have to follow more sanity rules like use always the mask and now the maxximum capacity of the boat its lower than usual because of more sanity rules and its also because sanity rules that you cant be close to people so you can´t focus only in the sea and because of all of this its not the same anymore but still its a good choice if you don´t know what to do in Valparaiso

Cerro Alegre, murals and Baburizza museum

Cerro Alegre is one of the most beautiful and well known hills of Valparaiso. It has colorful streets, with murals, and palafitos, many ups, downs, the street itself is not paved, but it has like stone bricks. The houses built there are wood made, there are paintings or ceramic masterpieces made by local artists which have not been restored because they are considered historical pieces. In this place, the COVID-19 safety measures are inefficient.

For instance, there are "mask dispensers", where you can go and change your mask if necessary. You can also find hand sanitizer in different locations, but no one is supervising if everyone use it properly. Unlike the hill itself, in the museum that is located at the entrance of Cerro Alegre, they are very strict with the pandemic situation, they measure visitors temperature, people must use hand sanitizer 3 times, clean their shoes with disinfectant and if needed, they can give you a new mask. All this happens before visitors enter. Inside the museum there are beautiful masterpieces and even pandemic related art pieces that reflect how certain situations have changed. For safety reasons, I think visiting the museum is better than going to Cerro Alegre because of the safety measures at the former. It should be noticed that before the pandemic people used to go to the hill without following any of these safety protocols and it has been a very big change for everyone, but we just have to get used to this new normal.

In normal times (without pandemic), you can eat inside the restaurant. however, now with the pandemic you must eat outside the restaurant. For example, in the year 2016 (without pandemic) i went with my family to Valparaiso and we can eat inside the restaurant of chorrillanas. Now, in the winter of 2021, we went to Valparaiso and we must stay with mask all day and only take off the mask for eating outside the restaurant.

I used to believe the view of my apartment (at floor 22 in Santiago) was awesome but it was nothing compared to this view. Such a shame that with the pandemic we have more limitations in capacity or the frecuency so its better to use it just if u really need it to travel and not just for the view

In normal times (without pandemic) we can enter to the sea and swim in the sea, but in pandemic we can not swim in the sea because we must stay with the mask all day in the beach. For example, i went to Valparaiso in the year 2016 and i can swim in the sea without mask, and in the summer of 2021 i went to Valparaiso and can not swim in the sea, the life guards did not allow it. Only i can stay in the sand and talk and play cards with my family. I really miss swim in the sea.
