The Nile River was important to Egyptians. On page 136 in paragraph 1, the text states, "This two-way travel made visiting and trading easier." Another piece of evidence comes from page 137 in paragraph 4, the text says, "Inundation was followed by Emergence, the time when the land emerged once more from beneath the water. As this season began, farmers planted their crops." The first piece of evidence that supports my claim helps me explain that the Nile River is important because it makes visiting and trading easier. This makes the Nile River important. The second piece of evidence helps the Egyptians by helping the crops grow. This is a major source of importance for the Nile River. All these reasons are why I think the Nile River is important to Egyptians.

The river Nile was important to ancient Egyptian civilization because the river provided water, food and crops to the people of ancient Egypt. On page 137 in the textbook, it says, "The Nile was the 'giver of life', but life was not easy for the ancient Egyptians." Even though the river brought life and hapiness to the people there, it also caused hardships. If it didn't rain enough or rained too much, the river would not provide fertile soil for the crops or completely flood the whole lands, respectively. The civilians learned how to use the water, river, and flooding to their advantage, and even used it to create a calendar. When the Nile flooded, they would give gifts to the gods, specifically the god Hapi, and have huge celebrations in Hapi's honor. They planned the calendar around the flooding and harvest times, which lead to the calendars we have today.
So yeah, the Nile river was important to the ancient Egyptian civilization. It brought life and food to the people, it gave them reasons to believe in a religion, and it gave them ways to travel and trade with other countries.

The Nile River was the biggest resource of life to Egypt. Basically, the whole life of Ancient Egyptians relied on the Nile. In the book on page one hundred thirty five it stated, that the Nile is the givers of life. For example, the river carried silt to the farms in the inundation season, it brought people together to make innovations, and was a "highway" for travelers in boats. These were all significant to the everyday life of an Ancient Egyptian.

I think the Nile River was important. The river helped the people with food, water, money, transportation, trade, and freindship. Egypts civilization thrived around the river, and I can tell you why.

FOOD- the river gave the Egyptians water for there crops. It made there soil rich, and there food delish. With out the river, there wouldn't be rich soil, and without good soil, no crops, which means NO FOOD! The river helped with there food.

TRANSPORTATION- the river helped transport the Egyptians get across the river. It says on page 135-136 of the textbook, "All year round, reed or wooden sailboats traveled on the Nile. Boats going downriver could use the current to travel North. Boats sailing upriver relied on Egypt's steady north wind to go against the current. This two-way travel made visiting and trading easier." They were able to trade to make better items, and they were able to bring the civilization together.

RELIGION- the river also played a part in there religion. It says on pg 139, From this blossom came the sun god Re. Re then created the other gods and the world as Egyptians knew it." Also later in the page, " The Egyptians prayed to their gods and believed in a life after death, or afterlife." The Egyptians made gods from the Nile. They prayed for an after life, and good harvests. The Nile gave leaders power, which would be different without the Nile.

CIVILIZATION- the river helped bring everyone together. It says so on page 135, "The Nile also helped bring together to form a single society." That may be a short sentence, but it tells us a lot. The Nile helped Egypt come together to face droughts and floods. They needed this river to make crops, which provides as money and food. They needed this river.

That is why I think the Nile was important. Without the Nile, Egypt would be lost. It provided them food, water, money, trading, and friendship. With out the Nile the Egyptians wouldn't survive. That is why I think the Nike is important.

Pg: 135 paragraph #2 on the Nile river the author mentions,"It affected all Egyptian activities, including farming, religious beliefs, and ways of governing". The Nile river spreads very far in Egypt said to be the largest river or one of, it gives the Egyptians an extra water source before drought by trapping water in ponds during a flood. It also give nutrients to plants 🌱 when they start to bloom/and or blossom giving them there food supply, it also gives them fresh water from the river stream. The Nile river in my opinion comes up to the name "giver of life" and with all of the work and effort to control the water supply and to use it to their advantage it really has brought together the Egyptians and in that is why my opinion states the it helps the Egyptian society and instead of a burden it being a bless.

In the textbook on the page 137 the author states, "During inundation the land was made new again with silt from the flood waters that covered the farmland." The Egyptians used the floods, to reproduce the crops they were growing. They could also use the river to travel places, other people from places beside Egypt would want to travel too so those people would have to pay Egypt to go across the part of their river, so the Nile was a way for the Egyptians to get rich.

On pg 137 an ancient Egyptian farmer states " It is to be a beautiful year, free from want and rich in all herbs". First this part says " free from want" I believe the farmer is trying to say that from the Nile river providing rich soil the Egyptians don't have to worry about food.

The Nile was important because the whole Egyptian civilization revolved around it.
Here are some examples:
Crops- the Nile river made the soil rich and fertile which helped the ancient Egyptians get food to eat and food to sell which helped them make money.137 paragraph 5
Travel- the currents in the Nile helped push the boats upriver or downriver .

I believe the Nile river was very important to the ancient Egyptians because without the Nile river "the giver of life" the people of Egypt would not have lasted very long. Egypt has the longest river in the world running through it. This river has the nickname "The giver of life" the reason they called it this was because it was their main source of food, water, and money. The river was a great thing to have around when it came to agriculture and water. In the article "The importance of the Nile River", it says that "this two way travel made visiting and trading easier." Ever year around April they would have agreat flood they called "Inundation." That knew that they would have to ban together to find a way to make the flood easier to live through. They made a series of dams and ponds to contain the water. They based their seasons off of when the inundation was, once it was over they knew that it would be imergence soon when they could plant their crops, next came harvest when they would harvest their crops for the later months. In conclusion Egypt would look quite different than it does today without the Nile river.

The Nile River was very important to Egypt for many reasons here are three of them. The Egyptians used it as a highway, they used it for farming, and used it for drinking water. The Egyptians used went up and down the Nile to trade and get materials they needed. The Egyptians also used the Nile to farm first they let the land flood to deliver silt to there farms and water to the lakes they made to catch drinking water, next they plant there crops and wait for them to grow, finally they harvest there crops and wait for the flooding season again.

The Nile river was important to Egyptian civilization because it provided water for agriculture. Without the Nile, the Egyptians wouldn't have any water for agriculture which is important because without water for agriculture there would be no food. On page 135 in the book, it says, "It affected all Egyptian activities, including farming, religious beliefs, and ways of governing. The Nile also helped bring together the people who lived along its banks." This quote proves that the Nile is important because it's use for farming, beliefs and governing, it also gives people unity. Also, whenever the Nile floods, it brought people together because people would have to work together to solve their problems.

Also when it rained hard enough the river would flood their flields, nourishing and fertilizing their soil. (I'll do more, I'm not done TvT)
