I’ve watched scenes of that film by James Whale concerning my story, and what they did was not worth it. The way the actor portrayed me left the impression that I was out of my mind, a maniac, and had no intention of pursuing any serious work in the laboratory. and the scenes of making a creature were just too much, which again made it all look rather like some sort of joke instead of my serious ventures.

However, the way they approached showing the creature come alive felt strange as well because it spent too much time on scary things and did not care about important scientific facts. Their make-up and the description they presented of what I made gave something that looked more like a monster than product science.

I acknowledge that making movies is challenging. Sure, but they did cross a line portraying me as some crazy scientist rather than one discussing big ideas. It is disappointing to see my story mutilated into something that does not portray the moral dilemma and struggles in fact.
