This information shows the big impact that the Native Americans had on the Indian Removal Act. 
I believe Andrew Jackson should deserve to be honored on the $20 bill because he wanted to protect our country, although it wasn't fair for him to force the Native Americans to move to another territory.    The Native Americans had a drastic impact because of the Indian Removal Act. According to Document 2, there was about a 2,000 decrease in people from departing there tribal territory to arriving at there new home. This would cause great depression amongst the Natives. Even a small lack of people would make it harder to rebuild there tribes in the new land and would make it harder to adapt to the unfamiliar land. Observed from document 3, the people look worn out, stressed, and depressed. Since they looked of horrible mental and fiscal condition, it would be hard to go straight back working and making the new place a home that they could share their culture with together again. This could affect the way they rebuild there new homes. Document 5 also supports the fact that rebuilding their cultures would be hard because of being weak and ill. A letter from a traveler who signed himself "A Native from Maine" stated, "many of the aged Indians were suffering extremely from the fatigue of the journey, and ill health…" The People Natives who traveled away from their homes during this Act, served great impact on their culture because of the amount of people who didn't arrive and from how weak physically and mentally they became during the travel.

   I believe we have learned enough to determine whether Andrew Jackson should be on the $20 bill. From worksheet 27 "Andrew Jackson: Pioneer, Politician, President " and worksheet 28 "Investigation: The Indian Removal Act", we learned a lot about Andrew Jackson and his life and major actions. This includes good and bad things we have learned. Personally, I believe that he does deserve to be on the $20 because of his overall actions. As we have learned, he did have a bad attitude towards Native Americans and did pass the Indian Removal Act which both were a big down fall. Looking at the time he was in and my own knowledge, he most likely didn't totally pass the Act on his own. The people he knew could of directed his believes on Natives. Though I still do believe what he did was cruel and selfish. But when I looked at his positive actions toward this country, I decided that he  to have the merit. For example, he served as a General in the Battle of New Orleans and because of that I  he respected soldiers and others respected him back. He even got money to repay the soldiers. Even the fact he was chosen on the twenty dollar bill in the first place influenced my decision. If he is on it, it must of been for a good reason. There are also many other reasons that  him worthy. And like Drew said, he had his goods and bads like the other presidents. But in my opinion, he respected the soldiers who served our country the most out of the lot of presidents who respected soldiers.

According to Document 1 The Indian Removal Act was caused by the whites wanting more land for agriculture. In order to get more land they had to move out west and kick all the Native Americans to a new home. Also in Document 3 and 5 the Native Americans were arrested and dragged out of their homes and were force to leave. Some Native Americans don't have shoes and had to walk bare footed. The walk to their new homes was far. According to Document 4 the Cherokee tribe had to walk about 500 miles and they had to go through mountains and rivers. The walk was so long some Native Americans died from the exhausted walk and some died from the soldiers who would kill them if they didn't leave. Like in the chart in Document 2 the tribes arriving in the new home was less than when they left their home. This also related to Document 3 The Trials of Tears because the title is meaning the Native Americans were upset from leaving their home and lose their loved ones. 
2.   I think he should and shouldn't be on the twenty dollar bill because he treated the Native Americans horrible by kicking them out of their homes and killing them and arresting them if they don't leave. Also making them walk a long way to their new home without providing anything to help them stay alive. I also think he should because he respect the common people and soldiers. He also respect what the people think and not what the rich man thinks.
