These are mammals that live in Africa. Giraffes are the tallest land animals.
Grown up giraffe can reach the height between 4 and 5,5 meters. It has got beautiful orange patterns all over the body. We can recognize them by very long neck wich can be long even 2,5 meters. It helps them reach the highest branches and leaves. The giraffe also likes to graze grass but its legs must be very much apart. Then they might become easy target for lions. Because of that, they even avoid to drink water in that position. They get enough water from leaves.
Giraffe's heart is bigger than elephant's and whale's heart. Their sense of smell and hearing are very much developed. If they are in dangerous situation, they can run very fast.
In the beginning, a baby giraffe drinks mother's milk. Later they also start to eat plants.
Giraffes live in the herd and everyone takes care of cubs.
We can often see them in the zoo.
