SDG 1: Zero Hunger seeks to eliminate hunger and promote sustainable agriculture. Think about the challenges of poverty in your community or around the world. How can we, as individuals and as a global community, work towards ending poverty and improving nutrition for all by 2030?

Poverty is a serious issue that Filipinos are experiencing right now. I believe that quality and inclusive education is one of the answers to this problem. If we can provide quality education to children and give them access to tools that will benefit them with the life skills needed to achieve their full potential, then we can absolutely break free from poverty.

Of course, it is not an easy task. This is why we need to prioritize education across the country by hiring more teachers, building new schools, allocating a substantial budget in the educational sector, and so on. There are also a lot of problems tied to poverty, but we must encourage people to push for UN initiatives and help the community break down these barriers for quality education.

We can achieve everything if we help break free from poverty.

--Roots

While poverty and hunger are complex, interconnected issues, there's hope for achieving Zero Hunger by 2030. Individuals can make a difference through informed food choices, supporting local agriculture, and donating to relevant causes. On a larger scale, global cooperation is crucial. Investments in sustainable farming methods, empowering small-scale farmers, and strengthening social safety nets are essential. Developed nations must fulfill their aid commitments to developing countries. Through collective action and informed choices, we can build a more equitable and sustainable food system that eliminates both poverty and hunger.

Poverty and hunger are big problems worldwide. Poverty isn't just about not having money; it's also about not having enough food, clean water, and shelter.

In the Philippines, about 22.4% of people live in poverty, struggling to get by. Malnutrition is a big issue too, especially for kids. Not having enough good food can make children grow slowly and get sick. It's important to eat a balanced diet for our bodies and brains to grow well.

As a teacher, I can help by teaching students about healthy eating and farming. We need to raise awareness about hunger and poverty in our communities.

In addition governments should invest in farming and food programs to help everyone get good food. Working together, we can fight hunger and make sure everyone has enough to eat.

Let's aim for a world where no one goes hungry by 2030 and beyond.

-----Geraldine Cabintoy-----
