- Use POE (Process of Elimination)
- Carefully read each question
- Consider all answer choices and reason why they are either wrong or right
- When guessing stick with one letter, ie., choose "C" for all the questions you don't know

- Take at least five minutes to plan your essay
- What is the claim and what evidence will support it?
- Claim should be clear and arguable
- Always leave a couple minutes to revise and go over your essays to correct mistakes

Synthesis:
- First analyze the prompt and the sources
- Need to use at least use 4 sources
- The essay is a conversation between the sources
- Do not plagiarize!!!! Cite sources, ie., (Source A) or (Dylan)
- Evidence is from the sources; not outside information

Rhetorical Analysis:
- First analysis the context and passage given
- SOAPSTone (Speaker, Occasion, Audience, Purpose, Subject, Tone)
- Find rhetorical devices and consider why the author chose them for the specific occasion, audience, subject, and purpose

Argument: 
- Find out exactly what is being asked
- Take a position
- Supporting evidence should build on each other and crescendo
- Evidence is from outside knowledge
