Grenada, Carriacou & Petite Martinique, a beautiful  tri island state located in the Eastern Caribbean. Its 134.6 sq miles, with a population of 114,000; with 60% under the age  of 50. 
We are known in our hearts as  the Isle of Spice and documented worldwide as Pure Grenada. 

The substances most prevalent Marijuana and Alcohol Marijuana resulting in the following general social problems affecting our society: 
1. Crime & Incarceration
2. High alcohol consumption amongst the male populace
3. Mental health disorders amongst the younger population due  marijuana use and abuse.
4. Unemployment / underemployment
5. Truancy 
6. Juvenile  Delinquency 
7. Dysfunctional Families
8. Increase in chronic and acute preventable illnesses 
9. High School dropouts
10.  Poverty 
11. Lack motivation to find a job.
10. Transactional sex and prostitution 


Community : 
Mt. Horne is a close-knitted agricultural community or about 3000 people in the north East of Grenada close to Mt. St. Catherine, the highest point of the Island. 

It emerged as the result of a split between two communities, Paraclete and La Fillette. It is a very "tribal" community, known for producing great sports persons in cricket, football among others. 

There is a large Cocoa drying station in the community that provided valuable services to farmers from a wide geographical area.

Horne is widespread in its prevalence, with widespread use of marijuana and alcohol. There has been an increase in foreign nationals living in Mt. Horne that are related to the drug trafficking ring there. 

Persons are initiated into marijuana and alcohol use at an early age, even as early as pre-teen. 

It appears that the pre-teen users are aware of their drug habits, and are not making any intervention due to lack of oversight and business with work and other interests.
