I received my EdM in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College. 

My research interest lies in the areas of culturally responsive, culturally sustaining and social justice education pedagogies integrated in STEM learning spaces. 

I am currently working on a pilot study that I started last semester in my Qualitative Research Methods class and will be refining and deepening this semester during my Guided Study class with my advisor and others in Science Education I seek to use these sessions to set aside time to write and adopt a practice my academic writing and develop habits centered around daily writing, writing goal setting, and learning ways to improve academic writing.

My focus is on discussion in the art room (how ideas are shared prior to, during, and after the making of something). I think the dissertation will end up focusing in on difficult conversations in the art room rather than the broader topic of discussion. I teach as an adjunct at UMass Amherst in the Art Department, working with student teachers in their placements right now (mostly virtual).
