         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Thoreau wanted to live as simply as possible, so he bought a shanty from and Irish family, took it apart, and moved it to Walden Pond. He rebuilt the house himself, also planting a bean field and digging an cellar. He remarks that he is trying to remove all unnecessary aspects of life, and also remarks how he enjoyed the hard work of building his own house.<br><br></div>]]></description>
