For most relationships - especially a collaboration - there has to be a sense of reciprocity. If one side is constantly giving or pouring into others, who pours int them? This can cause someone or a group to become drained and disengaged; which can lead to failure or incompletion of the task at hand. To spark change, and to be diligent, both or all parties have to give 100% or at least meet each other halfway.

In order to be successful in the task at hand, you have to be on the same 'page' with everyone. Most things cannot be accomplished by one person. Building these relationships and having a common goal that is well communicated helps reach your end point a lot faster.
