Post #2: Red Flag Suppression by authorities

Definition: Surpression by authorities means to me that someone high ranking has the right to hide something from civilian knowledge. Can range from discovery of a new anti virus- alien artifacts.

Connection: Parts of this article are connected to the red flag, suppression by authorities. The article is about the conspiracy of the cure for cancer being ignored/hidden from public knowledge as pharmacies and hospitals would be losing at lease millions of dollars yearly from the payment for chemo and the meds. There is an argument in the article saying how something that big of a discovery would never be able to be hidden. Therefore it is for the readers belief to believe what he or she thinks with a little more research into more depth.

Definition: The red flag All natural definition means that something that isn’t human made and comes natural versus something that was made in a lab.

Connection: All natural red flag refers to this article of organic food vs everyday food. Organic food is told to be all natural vs the drug infused chickens etc. This refers to the mystery of All natural as it is said that eating organically is healthier than modified.

Definition: Confirmation bias red flag is meant to mean that just because something isn’t proven doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have faith it isn’t real.

Connection: This can be connected to Atlantis. There is theories of it being real and me as one I do believe in it. There is proof and beliefs of it but nothing has been found or any solid proof. This artical is incredible how they have facts supporting the myth of Atlantis sinking to the floor. This is an example of a connection between the article and confirmation bias as it is very possible for it to be true and real... just have to wait and see for scientific proof it is the actual Atlantis.

Definition: The Red Flag mystical energy is referring to the energy that is used as a purpose. Such as aid healing and will even possibly give physic powers.

Connection: This website is related to the mystical energy red flag (crystal skull) because they incorporate the stones/ gems into jewelry and portray each one with a different power. Such as a protection necklace which will protect you when wearing it. Another example used is a healing ring with a gemstone inside the ring. They do not have in depth facts supporting the reasons why but it is directed for those who believe in these supernatural powers and for the people who like different jewelry.

Definition: Ancient misdom refers to how they did it “back in the day”, such as listening to ancient applications, treatments.

Connection: There is a connection between ancient wisdom and herbal practices. Herbal practices are something they used for healing before they had chemical prescriptions for illness. The article mentions how it is better to use herbs for smaller illness then medications.

Definition: The red flag Appeal to authority meaning is to be taken as somebody of importance should be taken differently and understood better than some one who is not of higher authority.

Connection: This connection between this article and the meaning appeal to authority is a great way of showing this. They hired doctors back in the day when they did not know cancer was a possibility from smoking therefore they pushed doctors to smoke in ads giving the public the image they aren’t bad. Meaning that since they help the ill they do not make you ill.

Definition: Our mind see’s something and places an image for it of something we have visually seen in the past. We assign an image to something that isn’t really it.

Connection: This article provides examples of patternicity. For example when you look up at the clouds and see a cloud that looks like a face or an object. Or even seeing an image on the moon or in a bush. It is mysterious as your brain attaches images it cannot control to an object.

Definition: The red flag confusing causation with correlation is meant to mean people see and hear one thing and get confused and believe what they hear before the scientific facts.

Connection: This correlates to people believing being out in the rain wont make you sick. THerr are facts proving it will but kids and even adults ignore those facts.

I chose to choose the website https://www.etsy.com/ca/market/mystical_stones which sells gemstones and jewelry.

Define Problem: Do these pieces of jewelry actually help people in mystical ways such as healing or protecting?

Information: I read through the website selling the jewelry and stones which each piece and stone hold a different purpose. They are surprisingly bought and I see people all over wearing these. The people buying these pieces of gemstones do not need solid facts for belief. They all have faith in them and that is enough for them to believe they work and do their need.

Evaluate evidence: there is no scientific evidence except about the ancient times and how they were given purposes to each stone. There has been no studies of what the people have felt nor experienced with these stones and no actual scientific proof.

Assumptions: People dont need proof as they assume since they are popular and have faith they will buy them and believe nor matter the outcome. They will find the tiniest bit of hope in anything that comes from the stones.

Identify: Case 1- they do help in different ways spiritually buy giving people faith but nothing physically. Case 2- they do not posses anything at all and it is all a cash grab.

Personally: These are not real and do not posses anything.
