Today our class will be looking at the primary colors. During this lesson we will look at what colors they are and what happens to them when mixed in a group activity. The class will be engaged and able to interact with the entire lesson. As a group we will find out, discuss and watch videos about the primary colors. The class will also participate in 2 group activities that will allow the children to come familiar with the 3 colors and see how to mix them correctly to make the secondary colors. First will be to fill out the 3 colors on a basic color wheel. There will also be places for the secondary colors in between the correct primary colors to fill out during the next activity. Please help the children with this step. The best thing to do would be giving them one color and working with them with each color. To ensure the project is done correctly there will be Instructions of what is needed and what to do. There is also a video attached for you to see first, watch with the kids (all at one time or stop between steps).

If they need help, of course give hints if need.

Once they have their guesses use the power point and coloring sheet of the color wheel to interact and talk about the colors and what things are each color.

Now let's pass out the worksheet and let them color only the primary colors as we learn each one. Allow them to color each one as each color is discussed. The best rule of thumb would be to give the child the color you are talking about and color at that time. We will save the other colors until later.
