Trembling is the youngest of three sisters. Her older sisters Fair and Brown are jealous of her sister because Trembling is very beautiful. Her sisters are afraid that she gets married first, so they hide her at home and she has to do all the chores while her sister go to church every Sunday in the hope the prince will notice them.

Everything Trembling wants is to go to church too. And because of that longing to attend church she asks a henwife for help. The henwife uses magic to dress her with the most beautiful dress and shoes ever. She also provides her a mare and a honeybird and a honeyfinger for each of her shoulders. Trembling goes to church three times in a row leaving quickly before anyone can follow her. With every visit to church she captivates the prince more and more with her beauty. On the third Sunday she loses one shoe while riding away. The prince picks up the shoe and says that he will marry the woman who's foot fit into the slipper. He travels all over Ireland to find the woman.

After months of searching they get to Trembling house. The two sisters put her in the closet trying to hide her from the prince. The two sisters tried on the shoe pt it didn't fit. The prince asked if there was another woman in the house. And then Trembling spoke up for herself. She tries on the shoe and it fits perfectly. Trembling put on all of three dresses she wore to church to identify that she was the woman at church.

The prince fights for Trembling against the Kings sons from Lochlin, Spain, Nyero and Greece and he wins. After the fights they get married.

After their wedding her sister Fair is still jealous. Fair pushes Trembling into the sea and tells the prince that she is Trembling. The prince did not trust her and he slept next to Fair for one night with a sword and he says that if the sword is warm the next morning Fair is indeed her sister but if it stays cold she lies. The sword stayed cold. A cowboy saw Fair pushing Trembling into the sea and Trembling got swallowed by a whale but she managed to call out the cowboy. She told him that he should tell the prince to come and save her. In the end the prince manages to save his wife and Fair is exposed.

similarities between Fair, Brown and Trembling and Cinderella ( Grimm's version )

One similarity is that Trembling/Cinderella is not allowed to leave the house. Her sisters are jealous of her so she is not allowed to leave the house and she has to do all the chores. She also has less beautiful clothes than her sisters.

Another similarity is that the sisters are the evil characters in the story. They treat her as if she were worth less and they are mean. They let her do all the chores like she is a slave.

The story teaches that the ones with a loving and kind heart will in the end succeed more than the cruel and jealous people. It shows you that being cruel brings you nowhere because the sisters didn't get to have a great ending but Trembling who is kind and patient gets a good and peaceful ending.
