1. Animation makes music videos more interesting to watch and it helps to appeal to adults of all ages

2. CGI, Stop motion and cell animation
3. 1 good thing about CGI in music videos is that it has special effects to make the video more appealing but the bad thing is that the scenes go too quickly and you won't be able to see it
4. 1 good thing about stop motion is that you can use different things to make the video more interesting but the bad thing is that the details are not as good as CGI
5. My best example for stop motion is "Take on Me" by A-Ha as they use real people in the video and they set 2 backgrounds, one in the cartoon world and one in the real world and they made it like the drawings are actually real and talking to you.
6. My worst example for stop motion is "Fell In Love With A Girl" by the White Stripes because even though they used LEGO to attract the audience, the details were really poor and not of good use

Animation has an impact on music videos because it makes it more fun and interesting to watch.

1. They used animation in music videos to make them standout from each other and to give them more personality.

2. The 3 types of animation that are used in their videos is Stop motion, CGI and Cel animation.

3. The good thing about CGI is that you have unlimited creativity to work around with but the bad thing about it is well it depend on how you use it like it was rush, lazily used or using too much of it.

4. With stop motion you can use any small props to make them alive, but the problem with stop motion it is take a lot of time to do.

5. The best example of the animated music video for me is sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel because there is so much scenery from just only stop motion and it was amazing.

6. The worst example for me is Paranoid Android by Radiohead because the colours were too simple and bland and the whole video is inappropriate for some sensitive people.

HOW ANIMATION IS USED WITHIN MUSIC VIDEO'S

-Music Videos

I think that animation has had a major impact within the music industry, when it comes to making the music videos the animation plays a major part as it bring out the colours and the true meaning of the lyrics of the songs. The animation bring outs the colours for ordinary videos and changes the perception of people’s views based on the video. Some music videos have different types of animation but ill list those below.

There are three types of animation and they are as follows:
1

C.G.I
COMPUTER GENERATED IMAGERY
it’s a type of software for the computer to make special effected images for movies and music video and it involves a specialist to add anything they want to a video. For example the film Jurassic Park the dinosaurs are graphically made within the software. CGI allows film makers to import scenes and objects in to the film that would normally be impossible to do in real life, these are some of the films that have used CGI in the past – Pearl Harbour – The Day After Tomorrow – King Kong – The Matrix and also The Fast & Furious.

Advantages

Firstly, CGI enables filmmakers to create fantastic effects that would cost too much to produce physically, and the process takes less physical space.

Depending on a film's genre and desired tone, the use of CGI can help or hinder. If a director wants a film's environment to feel bright and shiny, CGI can get the job done. It's easy to create objects or people that look perfect with CGI, but not as easy to create a realistic landscape that is dingy or run-down environment.

Disadvantages

Another problem with CGI is that it requires actors to act against a green screen rather than against a visible backdrop. Actors frequently use the existence of the set to help get themselves into a character role, and trying to act against a green screen makes it difficult to get into character.

Like anything else in filmmaking, CGI is a tool. It can be a valuable asset when used properly. However, improper use or over-reliance on it can hurt the finished product far more than it helps. Knowing when to use CGI greatly increases the visual effect of a film on the intended audience.

2
STOP MOTION
Stop motion involves the process of taking one picture at a time and moving the position of the object and then proceeding to take another individual photograph and then moving the object again into another position. An example of this process for stop motion is used within a music video by Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer. The length of the video is 5 minutes and consists of the whole video being made up of hundreds of thousands of static images being individually made and then being
stitched together.

Advantages
Stop motion brings static objects to life and you can make them do anything that you want.

Disadvantage
Stop motion requires hundreds of photographs and also it takes a very long time as you need to take one picture at a time and then move the object ( or person ) ever so slightly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g93mz_eZ5N4

3
CEL ANIMATION

Cel animation is short for celluloid, it’s a transparent sheet where objects are drawn on or painted which then leads to hand-drawn animation. It’s a traditional type of animation which is used within cartoons or animated movies with each frame from the scene being drawn by hand. For a full length feature film being produced with cel animation would require a million drawings or more to complete it.

Major film companies have decided to cut down or stop completely using cel animation as our technology is improving every year and that being said Disney studios have stopped using cels in 1990 as Computer Animation Production System (CAPS). Generally the characters are drawn on cels and laid over a static background drawing, this type of method lets the artist draw over multiple layers of the picture and allows them to do multiple and it also means they don’t have to re draw it as much.
