Creative type

We had a creative type quiz, so here is the result:
The quiz showed that I am a dreamer.
It means I can see symbols, metaphors, and hidden meanings. I am deeply emotional and intuitive, with a vivid imagination—the quintessential idealist and romantic.
It seems like true, but because all of that it is often hard for me to come back to reality.
It says it would be better for me to collaborate with innovator types, who combine my lofty idealism with a focus on pragmatic solution.

Mind map

We had to create a mind map introducing ourselves.
I added here some of my hobbies, favourite artists, videogames, movies and series.
Reflection
I found it a little hard to put here something exept of my hobbies and draw something about me myself. I didnt know how to visualize it, but i found a way to express myself.
I drew here my dog, mentioned that I'm a piano player, drew how ADHD feels, and also i drew that i am kind of a nerd :)

We had to do 4 portraits of a person. We had to draw a classmate sitting near. The first portrait had to be front view, the second is side profile, third is 3/4, fourth is view from behind.
The point was to draw every portrait in 2,5 minutes withouy using an ereaser.
Reflection:
The hardest thing for me was to draw a person recognizable in not much time and lines.
But it was quite easy to draw a back view.

Portrait

This portrait was done by a Ukrainian artist, Kuptsov Valeriy.
He is my mothers ex husband, but even after divorse they were in very good relationships. I knew him, so we had kind of strong mental connection and our ways of seeing the world were similar.
I like eastern culture, so here we can see an asian woman.
He was painting and drawing everything what would inspire him: portrait, landspaces, still lifes.
Every painting might look different, but there was little details, which always were the same.

Autoportrait

Egon Shiele
I was really impressed and by this artist.
He was creating not only autoportraits, but this painting inspired me tthe most. Why? Because the style is very different, but at the same time very similar to realism. I find some pieces of my style in it, especiially the shape of the eyes. I like the texture of the paint that we can see, also colours are not so bright.
I love how Egon uses color theory at this painting. We can see some blue and orange shades on the face, but in real life we couldn't see these colours at person's face.

Gesture drawing

1. One-line drawing
I found out that it is not very hard for me to draw the whole portrait by one line. I could even add shades, details and a person would be recognizable.
2. Drawing a person looking only on them
Firstly, it seemed not that hard, i was drawing really fast.
When we ran out of the time, i looked at the drawing and that's what I saw:
Some parts of the face were looking like a one construction, but almost all of them were swapped.
Of course, the person was not recognizable anymore. But looking separate on every construction I drew on this "face", it seemed not that bad as for a blind drawing.

Arts glossary

Today we were finishing the arts glossary.

We were writing 11 terms and doing a research about their meaning.

The point of the task was to do a research, so we could use it on uor asessments and other reflections.

I noticed, that nor I, nor my classmates can use visual arts terms on asessments so by now, we can use this glossary to describe techiques we used while doing this work.

Watercolor pallette

My task was to make a pallete of waletcolor paint.

The point was to see how different amount of water and paint change the brightness of color. I was also mixing colors to see, what colors can we get.

I also was experimenting with different types and textures of paper. I used mixed watercolor paper, but also watercolor thick paper which is specialized for watercolor painting.

I already had an experience with it, but for me is not very good material, I prefer to work with acrylic paint, not watelcolor.

so what exacly i did is made a gradient of each color from 100% of paint to 10% of paint each.

Then I mixed each colour with each. From 6 colors, I mixed out 12 more.

Sketch of the street

My task today was to sketch view from scool design room balcony. I made a drawing of the view, the sky was grey, it was cold, i was unable to see the sun. I chose the best view to use only two colors, becausee the task provided using only two watelcolor colors.

First, I made a rough sketch of the street, using not really sharp pencil.

Then, I erased it a bit, but I was still able to see the sketch. I sharpen the pencil and made a new one.

After, I fixed some mistakes and finished it with the most sharp pencil I have.

Mindmapping Videos

We've watched couple of videos about mindmapping and how to do it correctly.

The video was related to our new unit "A room with a view", where we will have to do a project, the main topic of which are landscapes.

I found some really useful information about mandmapping, as such as asking questions to yourself.

I did some sketches, so later I can use the information for my future project.

Unit2 Task1

The task is to pick two art movements of XIX ceunrty. Pick two artists, pick one landscape and indoor space painting for each.

Pick 3 moments of a movie "A Room wirh a View" that are connected. They don't have to be exactly the same, just to look at colours (for me colours are very impotant), position of charachters, dressings.

I chose two artists of XIX

First one is Kiriak Konstandi, who was doing impressionist paintings, the second one is Bogdanov-Belsky, who was ddoing realism

This lesson I started to do my task 1, which is observing 2 art movements of the 19th century, selecting 2 artists of one of them, and for each one we have to observe 2 paintings (1 landscape and 1 indoor view)

Oil pastel paintings

This session we were trying out a new material: oil pastel paintings. We were supposed to replicate one of the paintings of Emil Nolde.

I liked this material because it is comfortable for me to draw with thickly structured materials.

Dry pastel painting

This lesson we were learning to draw with dry pastel. We were allowed to draw any of paintings we like, and we had two trials.

I drew Kiriak Konstandi's "A girl in a blue cape".

Unfortunately, the varnish I was using was not good, so it became look a bit grainy, but i liked it.

I can understand your journey and some of the different processes you went through while developing your ideas until the final outcome, but it's important you add images to illustrate your writing.

In the future try to begin using more vocabulary from the glossary and expand significantly your performance analysis with more detail. Set aims to achieve or specific creative or technical skills you need to improve on.

Thinking on improving my final resut

This lesson I was processing how can I improve my final result. There are some of my thoughts.

Do my job more in the way I can talk with the audience, make my point more clear
Add more 3d details to my work
Use bigger canvas
Play with light and shades
Connect it more to the real world and to my life

Starting my research

Today I wrote my research for the first partt of my document, looking for an inspiration connected to my previous project. First of all I was paying attention to the devices that artists use to talk with the audience and to get all the attention

Finishing my research project

I wrote a couple of articles about what impressed me in these exhibitions.

I foung lots of interesting artworks but I chose one that connects with the theme of my previous project which is about industrialization and humanity connection.

It is an exhibition of child drewings being built at the middle of the street in a city. That inspired me and I liked it.
