When I was 12, I was captivated by stories about witches and magic. One Halloween, my family decorated our house for the holiday, and I was excited to join in the fun.

One evening, while my parents went out to buy candy, I decided to watch a classic movie about a witch who flew on a broomstick. I wanted to finish it before they returned, so they left me alone. An hour later, my little brother Juan came to find me, and we stepped outside to see the decorations in the dark.

As we admired the twinkling lights, I excitedly recounted the tale of the witch—how she flew high above the village, casting spells and spreading mischief. The combination of the story and the chilly night air made us both feel a bit uneasy.

Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a figure soaring across the moonlit sky! We gasped and screamed, convinced that a witch was flying right over our house!

Our father, who had returned just in time to hear us, rushed outside. We told him about the witch we had seen, our voices trembling with fear. But instead of panic, he chuckled.

In the bright light of the porch, we realized it was just a Halloween decoration—a large, inflatable witch that had blown up in the wind. She was hovering, yes, but definitely not casting any spells!

When I was 23 years old I lived in Quito above the maternity ward two blocks from Itchimbia Park and I lived on Fray Jodocko Rickie Street #13-120 and Luis Sodiro, I entered through Luis Sodiro and I had to go down several stairs because there were 4 connected houses, they were not apartments since the stairs had no roof and there was no light and when one time I went out to buy something at night the neighbors were not there and as I passed by their stairs I saw an old man who greeted me and told me where he was going, I told him I was going to buy something and so I went up to the main door, went out, bought something and came back, when I came back I never saw the old man again, the next day I asked my neighbors and they told me that he was an old man who had lived but had passed away, but that he always appeared as the least expected person, after hearing this I felt very scared because they told me that the old man is always there and that he never left that place. From then on, I was afraid to go shopping at night, so I tried to buy everything during the day and in the evening.

Normally, I prefer not to tell a scary story because I dream of it while sleeping, but I love horror stories so let's go. When I was 10 years old. I had a doll that my mom used to buy her beautiful dresses and expensive golden earrings. I loved her because it was like my sister. Once, I was doing my homework when suddenly I listened to some little steps behind me. I thought it was my imagination because I was very tired, but I carefully noticed my doll was sitting behind me. My body started to quake and my legs were weaker each time. The worst of it happened when my mom shouted because dinner was ready. I stood up and a tiny cold plastic hand took my jeans. I screamed and screamed and ran out of my room. When I got to the kitchen many tears were going down my face. My mom got shocked because I fainted on the floor.

When I was 13, I spent my holidays at my aunt's house. Me and my cousion used to love watching youtube videos about mirrors that spy on you. While my family was doing the lunch, we locked ourselves in a dark room to watch videos, after 5 minutes we got bored of watching videos and he started to tell me a story that he had read about a shadow behind the person who said a phrase in front of the mirror. Outside the room we heard a noise and we were both scared by the noise and the story, then my cousin got a mirror because we didn't try to say that sentence to see what happened, suddenly we heard the noise again and we screamed, I got so scared that I even cried. We screamed so loud that our parents asked what had happened to us and where we had been, because the noise we had heard twice were them looking for us, so my cousin started to laugh at me for crying. It was nothing, it was just that our parents were looking for us, but I can't get over the shock!

When I was 11 years old, my sister Darla and I decided to visit an old, abandoned house in our town, Patate. People said it was haunted, but we wanted to see it for ourselves. As we walked closer, I felt a chill down my spine. The wind was blowing, and the leaves were rustling on the ground.

Suddenly, we heard a noise coming from inside the house. It sounded like footsteps, slow and heavy. Darla and I looked at each other, our eyes wide with fear. But we were curious, so we stepped inside. The floor creaked with every step, and the air smelled musty and cold.

In one of the rooms, we saw an old mirror. When I looked into it, I thought I saw a shadow behind me. I turned around quickly, but there was no one there. My heart was pounding. Darla whispered, “Did you see that too?” We were both scared, but we couldn’t stop exploring.

Just as we were about to leave, a loud bang echoed from upstairs. We screamed and ran out as fast as we could, not looking back. That night, I couldn’t sleep, thinking about what we had seen. Was it a ghost? We never found out, but I’ll never forget the fear I felt that night.

One dark Halloween night, while my friends and I were in a cabin in the middle of the forest called "Yambo", we received a strange and unexpected phone call. A completely unknown man's voice on the other end repeated our names and nicknames and warned us: !!You are in danger!! We tried to ignore it, because we thought it was a bad joke, but one of my friends insisted on checking outside. He went out to check who it was with a flashlight, but once he left he never came back.

We were so scared that we couldn't sleep all night, and dawn broke, so we decided to go out and found their footprints going into the forest and then suddenly stopping. Just then, the phone rang again. One of my friends decided to answer and his weak and distorted voice whispered: !!They are here..!! don't look for me!!!!

When I was 11 years old, I heard stories about La Dama Tapada, a mysterious veiled woman who roamed the foggy streets of Pinllo, Ambato. My grandmother often warned me about it, saying that it appeared to those who dared to walk alone on quiet nights. I never believed her until that Halloween.

One cold night, my friend Fabricio challenged me to go with him to a place where they said it was common to see La Dama Tapada. I agreed and pretended not to be afraid.

The streets were unusually quiet, shadows drawing in the fog. The street lights flickered as we reached the Pinllo lookout. We stood frozen in the dark fog, a figure of a woman standing by the wall appearing.

I barely whispered: run. But the figure began to slide towards us. Fabricio grabbed my arm as we turned and ran, footsteps echoing behind us. Just when I thought we were going to be caught, Fabrizio fell. I helped him up and we dared to look back. The woman was gone. The fog cleared and the lights came back on, as if nothing had happened. When we realized it was just a trash can with old clothes in it, we laughed because it was just an illusion of fear created in our minds.

When I was 16, my friends and I loved to have sleepovers, but that sleepover was some different, so it was halloween.

We were in Mera, that is little town near to Puyo, one of my friends live in there and her house is so big, because she is like only daughter because all of her sisiters don't live there; so that house is the best option to have sleepovers.

It was so cold, because we were in the backyard and we were making fake calls to anyone (it is so funny). Suddenly, we heard a big noice in the kitchen, like a dish which had broken, so we went looking and there was nothing.

Anyways, we went to the living room and decided to watch an horror movie (it wasn't a good idea). I think that the movie called "wrong way", but I'm not sure, because since the movie stated, I was sleeping. And then, I didn't know how to woke up, but my friends weren't there, in the livingroom.

Consequently, I was so thirsty and I went to the kitchen. While I was taking a glass, I saw someone on the window reflection, it was like a thin girl. Suddenly, the light went out and the door closed by itself. At the end, I could open the door and ran away. Therefore, it was the most scared moment that I have felt.

Finally, on the next morning I told it to my friends, but anyone believed that it was true.

I slept for two hours. When I woke up, none of my toys were there. I got up scared and asked my mom and sister where my toys were, and they said they never saw them.

Once, when I was twelve, I experienced the most terrifying night of my life.

It was October 31, and I found myself alone at home. I turned on the TV and on one channel they were playing the story about the chupacabra. As I watched the story my fear increased. It was a very scary creature. When the story ended, I couldn't get out of my parents' bed because I was scared to death.

Only when my parents returned could I muster the courage to go to my own bed. I had just laid down under my warm blanket, hugging my teddy bear tightly. The room was dark, except for a small light coming in from my bedside table, which cast strange shadows on the walls.

Then, there was a low growl, like the rumble of distant thunder. I froze, my heart pounding in my chest. Maybe it was just the wind, I thought, squeezing my bear even tighter. But then I heard it again, closer this time, like something scratching at the window.

Through the curtain, I saw a shadow: a strange figure, with terrifying movements. My breath caught as I saw two glowing red eyes staring at me.

I felt trapped in bed, unable to move or scream for help. I wanted to close my eyes and pretend I didn't see anything, but those red eyes had me frozen.

“Chupacabra,” I thought to myself, as I remembered the story I had seen. The creature that came out at night, feeding on the blood of animals.

I closed my eyes wishing he would disappear. But I felt them closer to me and could almost feel his breath on my neck.

Last week I had a difficult and tiring day at work, plus the night before I didn't sleep well and I was worried. My brain was very tired and my body was stressed, as soon as I lay down on my bed I closed my eyes and when I was about to sleep strange things started to happen. First I felt a weight on top of my legs as if someone was sitting, at first I didn't worry much because I had been standing all day. After a while I started to hear the sound of a watch, it was strange because the only watch I had was a wristwatch and it was kept in my wallet, it was impossible to make such a loud sound, I tried to get up to hide it because the noise did not let me sleep. It was impossible when I tried to get up my body did not respond, I could not move my arms or my legs, the only thing I could do was to open my eyes, but I regretted it when I saw a shadow sitting on the edge of my bed, it had no face but it seemed to be looking at me. I was so scared that I panicked and wanted to scream but I had no voice, it was as if my mind and body were disconnected. The more scared I was I started to hear screams and saw how the shadow was approaching me, I only felt a creepy cold in my body, until I could scream so loud that my whole family heard me, my mom turned on the light and woke me up. I was told that it had been a sleep paralysis and that it was common to experience when you have a lot of stress or anxiety, I should relax more and not worry so much about things, if I didn't want to repeat this horrifying experience.

When I was 12, I had listened the common story of the hare and the tortoise.

However, I want to change the story to one more creepy. One day two schoolmates decided to have a race after school. They were sure that only one would be the fastest. During classes the Alan hare was bragging that he would run as fast as the blinking of the eyes. While the Emy tortoise only was listening and with his common slow walking, he began to walk out of the classroom to the race site. The track was so long that its finish line couldn’t see.On the other hand, Alan took a short break to stay fresh. When he woke up inmmediately ran to the track, but was late, Emy had crossed the finish line and was the winner. All his schoolmates congratulated Emy and went off to celebrate the victory. In that moment the face to Alan was totally red, he started to walk with a look of vengeance. That same day, in the evening while Emy was returning his house, he felt scared and anxious and it was weird. He looked his house’s door open, he knew that something bad had happened. He ran to search for his mother and little sister. But he found only a picture of terror with his mother and sister lying on the floor covered in blood. On the refrigerator was a note that read: “Congratulations on the victory, I hope you get to share the happiness with your family :)”.

So if Alan killed Emy's family, who was the real winner that day? I'm not just talking about the race.

When I was 18, I loved exploring spooky places. It was winter, and my friends and I decided to explore the old abandoned house at the end of our street. Everyone said it was haunted, but we wanted to see for ourselves.

One evening, as the sun was setting on the horizon, we grabbed our flashlights and walked up to the house. The air was thick and still. We were just entering the front door when the windows creaked open as if inviting us in. I felt a chill run down my spine.

It was totally dark. The floorboards creaked under our feet. We split up, exploring different rooms. I walked into a dusty living room and my flashlight flickered. While I was exploring the rooms, I heard soft whispers. “Help me… help me…” The voice gave me chills.

I called out to my friends, but they didn’t answer. Panic began to build in my chest. An hour later, I finally found them in the kitchen. “Did you hear that?” I asked in a shaky voice. They looked at me with wide eyes. “We heard it too,” said Aron, my friend. “Let’s get out of here.”

As we turned to leave, the front door slammed shut! We screamed and ran to the door, but it wouldn’t budge. The whispers grew louder and echoed in the darkness. “Help me…”

Then, one of the windows suddenly shattered! We jumped back, terrified. Just when we thought we were trapped, we saw a flash of light outside. “Look!” Sarah screamed, pointing to the backyard.

We ran to the back door, which opened easily. Outside, we found a group of children with flashlights. They were laughing and playing, completely unaware of the terror we had just experienced.

Confused, we asked them what they were doing there. One of the children smiled and said, “This is our favorite game!” “We like to scare the brave ones who come here!”

It turned out that the whispers were just their clever sound effects. They had been hiding and watching us the whole time. We all laughed, feeling relieved, but still a little shaken. That night we learned that sometimes the scariest places can hide the most unexpected surprises.

When I was a child, I loved playing outside in our big yard. One dark night, I wandered near the trees and saw something small moving in the shadows. I paused, wondering if I was seeing things. It seemed to be a small figure with a big hat, hiding behind a bush. As I looked again, it peeked out and stared at me. A cold wind blew, and I felt a chill run down my spine. The goblin began to creep closer, its slow steps echoing through the night. I was frozen, unable to move, as it walked toward me. Then, suddenly, the lights from the house flickered, and in that brief moment, the goblin vanished. I rushed inside, and even now, I still wonder if it was real or just my imagination.

It was the night before Halloween and I was home alone. My parents and siblings had gone to a family party and left me home alone – I live near a cemetery. I had always heard strange noises, even though no one was ever around. I tried to ignore them most of the time, but something about that night felt different.

The wind was howling outside, rattling the windows, and the cold was creeping through the walls. It was midnight and suddenly, the atmosphere changed. The air became heavy, almost suffocating, and the usual sounds of the night faded into absolute silence. I sat there, frozen in my room, trying to shake off the growing feeling of unease. But then, I heard it.

Heavy, deliberate footsteps, like four people were walking together, stomping on hardwood floors. But there were no hardwood floors in my house. And I was alone.

Mustering all the courage I had, I walked out of my room. The hallway stretched out before me, dimly lit by the moonlight filtering through the windows. That’s when I saw it: a shadow. At first, it was just a blur, but as it came closer, I saw the silhouette of a tall man in a wide-brimmed hat. I couldn’t see his face, just his figure slowly advancing toward me. My legs locked in place, my skin bristled with cold sweat, and my breath caught in my throat. I couldn’t move.

Desperate, I ran back to my room and slammed the door shut. But before I could get away, the door swung open so hard it nearly knocked me off balance. I staggered back, gripping the edge of my bed, staring down the hallway. But the shadow was gone.

I ran out of my room, checking the hallway, then the yard outside. There was nothing. No one. The wind was still howling, and the cemetery next door was as quiet as ever. But the dark figure had disappeared, leaving only the echo of its footsteps and the memory of that night engraved in my mind.

My friends found a map of a terrifying place, they wanted to scare me and decided to go, they invited me and we went together. I remember we explored a macabre forest. When we entered we saw that it was cold. The day was getting late. My friends were laughing as they walked confidently. Suddenly, a twig broke off something we were crossing. Before long, we started to run. My friends told me that they had seen a big, ugly bear. One by one, the beast caught them. I was moving fast, but the monster caught me. I was very scared. Suddenly, someone spoke from inside the beast. It was my friend and he was wearing a bear costume. They just wanted to scare me! That day I discovered that bad creatures don't exist. I went back to my normal life and today my friends and I laughed together.

"This horror story brilliantly respects the four S's. The setting was vividly described, creating an eerie atmosphere that immediately drew me in. The suspense built gradually, keeping me on the edge of my seat, while the surprise twist at the end left me shocked. I also appreciated how the author used the simple past and past continuous effectively, weaving a seamless narrative that enhanced the chilling experience."

Comment on Story B: "I loved how this story adhered to the four S's! The setting was hauntingly well-crafted, immersing me in its dark world. The suspense was palpable, and just when I thought I had figured it out, the surprise twist took me by surprise! The use of simple past and past continuous throughout the narrative was impressive, as it created a fluidity that made the chilling events unfold naturally. Overall, a satisfying read!"

Normally I don't really like to tell scary stories because I tend to dream afterwards. When I was 10 years old my grandmother knew how to tell me real stories and they were scary. I used to live in an old house in which there was a water fountain that had a chicken eye where water came out of the ground. My grandmother told us that you shouldn't go out that way at night, especially at midnight because she said that there was an evil being there that knew how to fuck people, especially girls, that being was called GUAGUA EL AUCA or GUAGUA SHINKE. He was the soul of a child who was sacrificed by the ancients in that place in gratitude for the water he produced at midnight. He went out to look for his mother and knew how to cry like a baby when a person came to see him and marked him and When I saw him, I saw his face, which was horrible, he had big horns and he had the face of a devil. They said that the next day the person who saw him woke up dead since that evil soul takes the person's soul and only leaves his body. That's why my grandmother told us not to go out at night because the son of the devil could catch us and we were very afraid and we never went out at night.

The house was made of old wood, all the windows were broken and there were gloomy pictures of people without faces. When suddenly the pictures began to move and we saw a shadow coming up the stairs we were very scared but we wanted to check what we saw so we decided to follow the shadow when we went up to the second floor there was an open room we entered the room and there were many children's things and we saw a lady. This lady looked very sad. We approached and the lady saw us and transformed into a shadow and made the most terrifying scream I have ever heard in my life at that moment my friend and I ran out of the house. When we arrived with our parents, they told us that the ghost we saw was the mother of a child who died in that house. The child drowned because his mother did not realize that he entered the bathtub, so the soul of the mother tirelessly seeks to save her son. That is why the inhabitants of the house told us that we should bring flowers to the graves of the mother and her son.

My father and I were in a car accident, it was night, the rain was heavy. We were traveling by road

when suddenly a girl dressed in white crossed our path, my father reacted quickly trying to avoid

the girl. the car ended up overturning. I was stunned, my sight was blurry. I watched as my father

convulsed while I lost consciousness.

When I woke up, he found me lying in a destroyed cabin, I did not know where he was. The first

thing I could visualize was an elderly lady. sitting down, she was staring at me. she laughing and

repeating "They want to see you dead". I, puzzled, got up, went straight to ask him. "Who are

you?". but the closer I got the further the room got. I chose to go find my father. when I came out, I

looked out the window, the lady was crying and she with one last cry she disappeared in front of

me.

I didn't know what was happening. the cabin was in fear of the forest. I had no idea where to start

looking. I decided to be guided by my intuition. I went into the forest, I walked through the places

that could be seen clearly since on some roads my sight began to cloud, and my head began to

hurt. every path I took led me back to the cabin, it was an endless cycle. I felt as if an entity was

watching me from the shadows ...

I decided to take the path where I couldn't see anything. he had nothing to lose. I went into the

forest again. he lasted longer walking than when he was on the road than if he could see. I reached

a point where I began to hear murmurs of people, I thought I had reached a point where I could

ask for help. I started heading where they came from ...

the weirdest thing is that there was no flashlight or camp.

the sounds began to be heard louder and louder. With the little vision I had, I could see encyclical

people next to a tree, totally in the dark. immediately that thing noticed my presence, and what I

thought was a person, was actually an amorphous being, without a face, tall, with hollow eyes

instead, the muscles of its body were exposed and what were murmurs turned into laments.

I started running, aimlessly while the creature chased me. every time I progressed, I encountered

more and more of those things. my only hope was to be able to find someone who can help me.

I reached a point that I could visualize a light at the end of the forest. I had to figure out things so

they would stop looking for me. When it came to light it was my father's car wrapped in fire and

with the inside. an impulse made me run to see if he was still alive. As I come face to face so I can

see my father woke up like one of those creatures ripping my face off with a claw. everything went

dark.

I woke up in a hospital with my father aside. They told me that I had been in a coma since we

suffered the accident. I was relieved, but ... I still felt observed ... I decided to go back to the scene

of the accident.

when a car arrives it almost runs me over. sadly, the car crashed to save me. I ran to see if the

people were okay ... but ... I was totally stunned when I realized that the people in the car were

us... the day of the accident ...

When I was 13, I had a big fascination with ghost tales and creepy legends. One fall evening, my family transformed our yard with eerie lights and spooky decorations, making our house look like the most haunted one on the block. I was beyond excited to see it all set up.

That night, my parents stepped out to pick up some last-minute decorations, leaving me alone with my little sister, Emily. To pass the time, I shared a story about a ghost that wandered through deserted streets, searching for lost souls. We turned off the lights to make it even creepier, and before long, we both felt a chill from the darkness.

Suddenly, I noticed something pale floating by the tree in our yard. Emily and I held onto each other, our hearts pounding as we stared at the ghostly figure swaying in the breeze. We were convinced we’d seen a real ghost!

Just then, our mom came back and found us frozen in fear. She looked at the “ghost” and burst out laughing. Turning on the porch light, we realized it was just an old white sheet that had blown off a chair in the wind. Our "ghost" was nothing more than a misplaced decoration!

Since I was a child I have not liked clowns. I would like to tell you this story, where I felt the real terror.

When I was 15 years old, I lived in Quito. My mom and I were alone in the house so we decided to watch a horror movie, it was about a killer clown. After a long day of work, my dad called us to travel to Salcedo. It was night time. During the trip everything was dark, the fog started to fall, and when we were in the moor, the car started to fail, and it turned off. We called a mechanic but there was no signal. So we decided to park and wait for daybreak to look for help. It was 12 o'clock at night, when I woke up I saw through the rearview mirror that someone was watching us, so I got scared and thought it was the clown from the movie, I started screaming and my parents woke up. I told them there was a person watching us. My dad came out to see what it was. And oh surprise it was a tree branch that had fallen on the road.

From that moment on I don't like to travel at night and neither do clowns.

The house stood at the end of the street, its windows dark and ominous. It was rumored to be haunted, and as Halloween approached, the rumors grew louder. One dark and stormy night, a group of teenagers, fueled by youthful bravado, decided to dare each other to explore the house.

They crept up to the house, their hearts pounding with fear and excitement. The wind howled, and the rain lashed against the windows, adding to the eerie atmosphere. With trembling hands, they pushed open the creaking door and stepped inside.

The inside of the house was dark and dusty, with cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. The air was thick with the smell of decay. As they ventured deeper into the house, strange noises echoed through the halls. They heard whispers, footsteps, and the occasional creak of the floorboards.

Suddenly, a loud bang came from upstairs. The teenagers froze, their hearts pounding in their chests. They exchanged terrified glances and slowly made their way up the stairs. As they reached the top, they saw a figure standing in the shadows. It was tall and thin, with glowing red eyes.

The figure let out a blood-curdling scream, and the teenagers ran for their lives. They burst out of the house and into the night, the terrifying image of the figure still fresh in their minds. They never went back to the haunted house again.

It was a chilly October evening, and the wind howled through the trees, making the leaves dance in eerie patterns. Emily and her friends had gathered at the old, abandoned mansion on the outskirts of town. They had heard countless stories about the place, but curiosity got the better of them.

As they stepped inside, the floorboards creaked under their feet. The air was thick with dust, and the faint smell of decay lingered. Emily’s flashlight flickered, casting long, wavering shadows on the walls. They moved cautiously, their footsteps echoing through the empty halls.

Suddenly, a cold breeze swept through the corridor, and the door behind them slammed shut. They jumped, their hearts pounding in their chests. “Did you hear that?” whispered Jake, his voice trembling. They nodded, eyes wide with fear.

They continued exploring, the tension growing with each step. Emily noticed a portrait on the wall, its eyes seeming to follow her every move. She shivered and looked away, but the feeling of being watched persisted.

In the dim light, they saw a staircase leading to the basement. “Let’s check it out,” suggested Sarah, trying to sound brave. They descended the stairs, the darkness enveloping them. At the bottom, they found an old, dusty mirror. Emily wiped away the grime, revealing their reflections. But something was off. In the mirror, they saw an extra figure standing behind them, a shadowy figure with hollow eyes.

They spun around, but there was no one there. Panic set in, and they decided to leave. As they hurried back up the stairs, they heard faint whispers, growing louder and more insistent. “Get out… get out…” the voices chanted.

They reached the front door, but it wouldn’t budge. Desperation took over, and they pounded on the door, screaming for help. Suddenly, the whispers stopped, and the door swung open. They stumbled outside, gasping for breath.

As they looked back at the mansion, they saw the shadowy figure standing in the window, watching them. They never spoke of that night again, but the memory of the whispering shadows haunted them forever.

It was Halloween night, and Mark and his friends were dared to enter the haunted forest at the edge of town. The stories said that anyone who entered would never return, but they laughed it off, thinking it was just a tale to scare children.

As they walked deeper into the trees, the wind howled louder, and the air grew colder. The forest seemed to stretch on forever, and soon, the sounds of the town faded away. It was as if they were in a world of their own.

They came across an old, abandoned cabin hidden between the trees. The door creaked open as if inviting them inside. Mark hesitated, but the others urged him to go in.

Inside, the air was thick with dust. The furniture was covered in cobwebs, and old photographs lined the walls. But as they explored, a strange chill swept through the room, and the floorboards groaned under their feet.

Suddenly, the door slammed shut behind them. They tried to open it, but it wouldn’t budge. A low voice echoed through the cabin, whispering, “You should not have come.”

Panic set in. They tried to escape through the windows, but they were all sealed shut. The voice grew louder, now angry: “You will never leave.”

Just then, a figure appeared in the corner of the room, its face hidden in shadow. It was a woman, wearing an old, tattered dress, her eyes glowing with a cold, unnatural light.

“You are mine now,” she whispered.

The next morning, the cabin was empty, and the forest was still. Mark and his friends were never seen again. The townsfolk said they had been claimed by the forest, just like the others before them. And every Halloween, if you listen closely, you can hear the whispers in the wind: "You should not have come."
