TAMUQ created this poster, making it credible and mandatory to follow. It’s trying to order people not to smoke, even if it was outdoor on campus grounds. Intended audience applies to anybody on campus, from students to faculty to visitors. It was strategically placed on the door so that prior to exiting the building, you are reminded that smoking isn’t allowed on the grounds, even if it’s vaping or iqos. There is also has a fire alarm right next to the door which may represent a subtle threat in the sense that if you do disobey the sign there will be consequences.
