Novice TESOL teachers' Personal Practical Knowledge (PPK) - example from Dio

- How novice TESOL teachers have constructed their PPK from their past experiences?
- To achieve this I need my participants to provide detailed stories of their past experiences as a student and a student teacher, then I will need to read through their stories and interpret them in order to generate a picture of their PPK constructed from their past experience.
- Thus, my research design would be a qualitative narrative inquiry using history interview as the data collection method. It could also be designed as a longitudinal case study if time is allowed.
- Philosophical assumption behind my research design would be interpretivism as it highlights a more researcher-participant interactive nature of data collection.

-What is the self and identity of female graduates of English in their L2 motivation and career choice?
-To achieve this, I need to gather both the general information and detailed description of my participants' ought to self and ideal self in their L2 motivation when entering university and in their career choices upon graduation.
-Thus, my research design would be a mixed method design combining surveys and interviews (individual and group interviews).
-Philosophical assumption behind my research design would be critical realism as realism is a perspective on ontology and an assumption that objects or phenomena of the research exist independently of the researcher and analysis of causation is one of the most distinctive features of realism.
