It addresses common teenage struggles and a best friend's brother romance that makes for the perfect amount of drama. I couldn't put this book down. The ending tied things together while still leaving me wanting more. I enjoyed it so much I tried to find another book by Nina Kenwood but this is her only one. This is definitely a book I would reread (which is something very rare for me)!

It scratched an itch for that type of book that I didn't know I had. Would strongly recommend this book as well as Weir's other works.

The author uses various visual techniques/features to demonstrate the language, ethnic, or cultural barriers (scribbles, different colored fonts, footnotes). The author weaves intergenerational tension, class struggles, and gender dynamics of Korean culture to explore universal themes of pain, loneliness, and hope. In a practical sense, the book will be a huge asset if it could be introduced to ESL students at UNCC and high schools. The author does a good job conveying various struggles through visual and narrative techniques. 

What I wish I could have experienced is the depth of literary values through symbolic/metaphoric explorations; however, I might be inadvertently comparing it to Spiegelman's Maus!

It captures not only the priest mind but also the mind of someone who is practicing religion. When I would tell people about this book, they would always ask if it was a true story, which goes to show how detailed this book is! I loved reading something that was not only entertaining, but also okay in the eyes of God. 10/10

Its like walking through the tight streets of Newyork and enjoying the beauty around it. its a light read for those wanting to walk away from a serious academic or professional content.

I have read several of her other books and have really liked her style of writing and the type of characters she creates. The reason I give this book 4/5 stars was the unsatisfactory ending. There was a lot of buildup throughout the book, and it didn’t resolve in a way I was entirely satisfied with.

Mariah Carey is not only a talented singer but an AMAZING story teller. She is so sensitive through her words that you can imagine what she's saying-- almost like she's right in front of you. I feel more connected to her and the mystic world from reading. I'll be sharing with my sisters! Amazing :)

I wasn't expecting to pick up a comic book, definitely something for my inner child. It's very detailed, especially with the art. 6 heads are certainly better than one. I'd definitely recommend to a friend. My friends birthday is coming up and I may get this for him :)

Along with undertones of Buddhist Philosophy, the book shows how Demian who is from one world finds himself in a world too cruel and opposite to the one he was raised in and his struggle to find his true self and the process of acceptance.
