~The Stamp Act of 1765, was the tax on all legal documents and printed materials.
-The cause  of the Stamp Act was for the British Parliament to raise money because of the costs of the French and Indian War. Since they felt they were protecting American colonists from the French , they felt it was okay to tax them
-The effect was The Act was repealed on March 18, 1766

~The Boston Massacre was a riot in Boston on March 5, 177 
-The cause was when colonists were very angry at British troops for taxing acts on the them because of the war
-The effect was the troops  fired into the crowd without orders, instantly killing three people and wounding others. Two more people died later of wounds from the incident.

~The Intolerable Acts was the name for laws passed by the British Parliament in 1774 after the Boston Tea party. They were meant to punish the Massachusetts colonists for their throwing a large tea shipment into Boston harbor.
-The cause was the Boston Tea Party incident and the Intolerable Acts were a punishment for them
-The effect was the colonists called for a conference that eventually became known as the First Continental Congress. From there the American Revolutionary War started.

What was life like for slaves on plantations
Life on the fields meant working sunup to sundown six days a week and having food sometimes not even suitable for an animal to eat. Plantation slaves lived in small shacks with a dirt floor.

 The stories about cruel overseers were  true in some cases. The overseer was paid to get the most work out of the slaves; so the  overseers often resorted to whatever was necessary. 

Large plantations often required some slaves to work in the plantation home.  Domestic slaves lived in better quarters and received better food. They sometimes were able to travel with the owner's family. Domestic slaves did not often associate themselves with plantation slaves.
