I have always wanted to go snowboarding, but when my friend offered to take my brother and I, we were thrilled. His father was a former snowboard instructor so we got very good lessons and, as a result, improved quickly, especially when combined with our ice skating skills. And when we left, both of us were very excited to go again.

The memory of the first time I solved a Rubik's cube is a very distant one. It has been over 7 years since that day. I had one of my uncles telling me what to do, as he already knew the algorithms and a method of solving it. Within a few minutes, I was able to get the cube back to a solved state and felt very accomplished. After that day, I continued to learn and improve and, after about a year, I was able to surpass my uncle with a faster method and a time of just over 60 seconds. But I didn't just stop there. I practiced, learned, and got faster over the next few years. And finally I achieved a personal best of 10 seconds. This record, like every other of mine, would stand as the fastest time in the school for a very long time. That was until 6th grade, where a student beat my time with a 9 second solve. Overall, I had a very fun experience making new friends, improving, and starting a community in the school during my time cubing and I feel that I have accomplished something great.

On my first trip to Hershey Park this summer, I went on some extreme roller coasters. This was my first time going on coasters with <90 degree drops, loops, and speeds of 70+ mph. Before we went there, my brother and I were very excited to go on ALL of the coasters. But, when we got off of our first one, we were terrified. For a very long time, we didn't go on any of these extreme coasters. But, as my brother is very reckless and doesn't fully think things through, and when he got bored, he decided that we should head over to one of the fastest ones to give it a try. When we got in, one of the kids coming out said "when it says 'go' make sure to hold on." Also, this coaster accelerates from 0-72 miles per hour in two seconds. It was a rush. We were not exactly expecting what happened, but we really liked it and were excited to do many other coasters. We ended accomplishing our goal and rode every coaster in the park.

For most people the thought of remote learning is dreadful. But for me, it was a love-hate relationship. I loved that I could be at my own home and have freedom to do whatever we wanted for recess or gym. But, I strongly disliked not being able to connect or hang out with my friends.

One day on our way to a hockey game, our car was unexpectedly rear-ended. It was quite surprising because we were at a dead stop for a few seconds, then suddenly we felt a crash. Luckily, no one was hurt even though our bumper was smashed and the poor kid's engine was smoking and totally wrecked.

A few years ago I was a member of a parkour gym. One day I was on the supertramp, and I over-rotated into a double frontflip. I had never tried a double flip before, and in mid-air I thought I was going to kill myself. Luckily I was completely unharmed. The staff were shocked but relieved that I was able to control the rotation, and not hurt myself.
