In the lesson, students drew parallels between Barack Obama's Presidential Portrait (painted by Kehinde Wylie), Wylie's other works (remixes of Renaissance paintings), and paintings commissioned by the Catholic Church during the Renaissance. Ms. Bright led students through the art critique process using I Notice Cubed and other art and primary source strategies.
