Autistic people, particularly lower functioning ones were targeted for forced sterilization in the western world, and in the worst form of this idea were targeted with genocide by the Nazi regime.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the DSM-3 finally includes "infantile autism" a unique syndrome finally separate from schizophrenia. Although it provides a rudimentary framework for Autism to be identified, the inclusion of words like "bizarre" and "morbid" still show a more derogatory and unaccepting tone.&nbsp;The criteria to diagnose Autism "COPDD" was also very poor at identifying those with ASD. </div>]]></description>

A much longer version, it fixes a good portion of problematic language, like removing the word "infantile." The new version also does away with strict checklists, instead opting for only the prevalence of a certain amount of a variety of traits. </div>]]></description>
