When I joined my sorority his music was still a very big part of that culture. Too $hort's music is known for objectifying women and being very risque'.          <description><![CDATA[<div>I remember listening to Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" for the very first time on our family computer when I was in 11th grade. I grew up a Jehova's Witness and I was constantly reminded that it was not okay to be gay, but Lady Gaga was the first adult I ever heard vocalize their support for our community. I felt seen and validated in my identity. While I love my family and I am pretty close to them, my chosen family, my queer family, is where I truly feel seen and comfortable being myself.  </div>]]></description>

It was one of the first connections I had with Spanish-speaking culture. There was also a band that was formed out of that show and I remember listening to their songs all the time.
