"Someone's opinion of you, doesn't have to become your reality." Like Les Brown says and proved through his own life experience, don't let other people and your own conscious talk you out of your goals and desires.

A few things that resonated with me during Les Brown's motivation speech was the inspirational quotes that he has been told by others, such as "someone's opinion doesn't have to become your reality." I have heard of this saying before, but it makes more sense now with what Brown's story. Another one is "practice only makes improvement, perfection doesn't exist", this really resonates with me because when you practice something for it to be perfect you'll only hone in on the negative parts of what you're doing, which can help improve, but if that's the only outcome you get from practicing it’s only going to get in the way of your improvement. So, saying practice only makes improvement gets you in the right mindset of being positive and can help your confidence and self-esteem. Finally, the last one is the African proverb, “if there’s no enemy within, the enemy outside can not do no harm.” This is self-explanatory no one can hurt you if you know yourself and is not an enemy towards yourself.

Les Brown really kept my attention when it comes to trying to motivate yourself. All of the things he had to go through, the struggles made him stronger. He really showed that his hunger for success got him exactly where he wanted to be and what he loved to do. It just goes to show that a little motivation and steps in the right direction can really take you anywhere you want to be.

I really enjoyed this speech by Les Brown. Brown is not only a good motivational speaker, he is extremely funny and charismatic. His personality is vibrant and keeps you engaged the entirety of the time he is speaking. In this video, Brown talked about walking into life bold and ready to conqueror. He encouraged us not to approach new situations timidly, but to walk into them knowing that you can own them. I think it’s so easy to enter situations holding back out of fear, which keeps us from learning and growing to the best of our abilities. I can also cause us to miss opportunities that would benefit us.
