One of the contributors that led people to think this is the number of people suddenly getting sick and the death of crops. Since the doctors didn’t have any ideas as to why the girls were getting sick and having fits, they blamed it on witchcraft. They had no strong and hard evidence but the women accused didn’t have any evidence either. Women didn’t have equal rights back then, especially because they were all followers of the Puritan religion. If we learned people that have different beliefs and do different things are not meant to be treated unfairly, then there would not be problems between the USA and the LGBT community.
