Today, i will tell about history of Langkawi. Langkawi is an island located in the Kedah province of West Malaysia, an island surrounded by other small islands and rich in natural beauties and lovely viewpoints. Most of Langkawi's attractions are attached to fables, as the Malay style requires. 

One of these, and probably the most famous one, is the legend of Mahsuri, a young princess who lived in Langkawi during the 17th century. A tale that has existed since ancient times, a story passed from generation to generation about a curse that was written even before this wonderful island was part of Malaysia.

The legend of Mahsuri and of her execution was indeed a tragedy of dramatic proportions and her curse, whether it is myth, real story or fantasy, has had significant importance and consequences in the course of Langkawi’s history. 

The curse over Langkawi Island has own ended. Today, it is a popular

holiday destination among local and foreign visitors

There are many interesting activities for tourists to spend an enjoyable

time there. They can visit the historical tomb of Mahsuri to learn its legend. They

can also head to the white sandy beaches where so many choices of water

sports and beach activities await. Some tourists like to join eco-tours that take

them island hopping on speedboat. They can have a closer look at the

formations of limestone outcrops that grow from the sea. Others take a scenic

cable car ride up to peak of Gunung Mat Cincang for a breathtaking view of

the sea. Langkawi Island is also a popular shopping haven for duty free item.
