I have always loved learning, but did not have the mental capacity in my late teens to pursue higher education. I returned to college in my thirties and have found that it was worth the wait. I am excited to learn and have enough discipline and routine to be a good student at this point in my life.

As far as teaching experience, I have taught 4-6 graders in Sunday School and I worked as a parapro in a special needs school. I also spent time in elementary classrooms while my kids were students there, helping run reading and math groups.

I don't intend to be a full time teacher, but I do plan to do some substitute teaching after I get my associate's degree. I am unsure where my path lies after LCC, but I know I love working with kids.

My teaching style is very hands on, I like to get to know the kids I am working with. Each one responds to tactics differently, so getting to know them helps me hone in on how to best help them learn.
