The palace is located in St. Petersburg Russia, and dates all the way back to 1859. Since the 19th century it has been a prominent opera house in the Russian society, and their culture.

Princess Mary did not want to live in the palace when it was built because there was a statue of Emperor Nicolas in the middle of Isaakiyevskaya square. The monument was right in the entrance of the whole palace.
