My name is Megan Richert. I currently live in Triangle, Virginia. I have been interested in art almost my entire life. In second grade, I learned how to write in cursive and that same year I got into calligraphy. When I was 9 years old, I asked for an art supplies kit for Christmas and I got it. That ignited my enormous passion for creating art whether it be through colored pencil, paint, watercolor, ink, etc. I have experience in art as I took Art 1 and Art 3 (I skipped Art 2) in high school.

The mediums I work in are paintings, collages, and ink. A commonality across all of my work on my digital Padlet page is that everything is very neat. A difference between my works is the color palette I used. This is because while one assignment asked for a little color, another asked for a lot of color. The reason behind making my artwork neat is that I get excited when I see other artwork that is neat because I can tell the artist put a lot of time and effort into their work. I want someone else to have that same reaction to my artwork. In addition, I chose to make collages for my color series assignment out of all the mediums because making collages brings me joy. I want to be an art therapist in the future, and I have a book of 30 different art therapy exercises. There is an entire section dedicated to college work. I have done a few of the collage exercises, and after finishing each one, I felt more at ease. Finishing my color series assignment was no different. Also, I want my artwork to convey a sense of happiness and peace. It makes me excited when I can make someone smile through my artwork. Overall, my digital Padlet page represents who I am as an artist as it shows that I work hard and create quality work.
