The presidency takes a psychological toll on an individual because there is a lot to own up to in that certain position, you have to present yourself as a perfect political role model to the nation, and you must mediate among both political parties and have an open mind to both opinions and ways of thinking.

The Budget Summary Agreement is a mix of spending reductions and tax increases meant to tame deficits. The Partisan Gap affects the presidency and their relationship W. Congress by two ways. Either work with your own party and have your two terms or work against your party and not be reelected back to office. Simply work with your party and get nothing done or work with the opposing party and get something done.

Broken Office

One way the office of the president is broken includes Trump promising that his decades in the real estate business would make him an especially able negotiator, but on health care, taxes and immigration he has not much bothered to trade horses with Democratic lawmakers. Also, ignoring traditional responsibilities of the job demonstrates the office of the president being broken. The job has grown from its original design where, Framers, fresh from a successful rebellion against a tyrannical king, envisioned an executive who was limited in power and even stature. Another way it has changed includes national security today being threatened less by slow-moving armies than by stateless terror groups who might weaponize a rented truck and by rogue states who might weaponize an email.
