The Red Cross organizes free and open activities for all young adults (18-29 years old) at the Tyyssija premises in Turku Student Village. Olkkari-Lounge usually gathers in the TYS n' Chill premises, except for excursion days. 

There is also free coffee and snacks available. Warmly welcome!

The Mobile Meeting Point is a pilot project in the Varsinais-Suomi district. It is a van that moves around the district to places where people already are: in front of stores, in food distribution lines, or at market events. The key is to meet and listen to people.

As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to influence the planning of activities. We need enough new volunteers to get the operation running smoothly. As a volunteer, you will receive support and assistance from the district office staff. You can book shifts according to your availability and capacity.

We recommend that all our online helpers complete the Online helper at the Finnish Red Cross self-study course, which provides basic information on online meetings and secure online operations as well as introducing different online helper tasks. You can complete the training even if you have not yet selected a specific task for yourself.

Are you interested in volunteering in food distribution? Join our basic food aid course to get a comprehensive introduction to the Finnish Red Cross food aid activities and learn how you can get involved as a volunteer! This course focuses on the surplus school meal distribution organized in the Finnish Red Cross Southwest Finland District.

The course will be held in person in Turku at the district office training facilities. Due to the size of the space, the course can accommodate a maximum of 20 participants. Please register for the course so that we know how many people will attend. Unfortunately, the facilities are not fully accessible: the lift is an old elevator in an old building and cannot accommodate an electric wheelchair, and the restrooms are not accessible.
