Darl is a special character. He has some kind second sense. He doesn't live in the same time and place as characters such as jewel and Cora who don't have that second sense. Darl is very close with Addie. He is upset by her impending death. He is also very close with jewel. I predict he will end up finding someone else with the same powers

Cora

Cora is a mother, is generally a sympathetic person, and possesses a good deal of patience. I think she will eventually explode, because no one can maintain their dignity for very long in the Southern Gothic genre. She is worried about disappointing people, and is a fair baker. She has a daughter named Katie, who is very inquisitive.

Cora is a character who enjoys talking about her farm's chickens and the amount of eggs they produce. She spends a whole paragraph talking about the eggs before she interacts with her daughter Kate. We don't know much about her besides her cakes. She bakes cakes and sells them to people within the town. We know Cora is part of the family since she is part of the book and a narrator. I think Cora will be important when it comes to her relationship with Kate. I think her obsession with her cake business and the production of eggs from the chickens. She's the true egg mom.

Darl seems like he knows everything. He seems to be a completely different character than all the other characters because he does not have southern dialect. He seems to be the only "educated" character in the story and seems to belong in a completely different book. His language is elegant and descriptive. He seems to be able to see what is not in his vision. That might make him a very reliable narrator.

Darl

Darl is a very analytical character, picking up on very minute details in relation to the path he and Jewel walk on in the first chapter, the care with which Cash makes Addie's coffin, and many other things. He seems somewhat cold in regards to his mother, as opposed to Jewel who is obviously upset that Addie is dying. I think Darl will be one of the most important characters in the novel but I'm not yet sure how.

Darl is the son who seems to be the main character. He is very descriptive and his senses as described by Faulkner are working overtime. His family member Addie Burden (not his mother but in his family) is dying and he seems to accept it as a fact of life. He and his family are farmers and they work the land they live on.
