Yes, they were not slaves anymore but they didn't really have the privileges that White Americans had. And I think they were just called free. No. Not even after the entire Civil War were the African Americans free. Because of the Civil War, they were free. And being free meant not being enslaved. But that also meant they were unemployed and they also had to pay back the ex-slave owners. Since African Americans were in debt sharecropping was invented. And very few people benefited from that. Very sad. Also I’m still sad I had 0 beans left in the farming simulation.
