Used Arts in my PhD, particularly the sculptures of Barbara Hepworth to help me understand my nursing practice as a Specialist Nurse working with people with complex disability.

I am a nurse and Creative Health specialist working at the intersection of voice, wellbeing, and community care. As the Founder of Singing Mamas, I lead a national network supporting women’s mental health through group singing, with a focus on perinatal care, trauma-informed practice, and social connection.

My work brings creative health into real-world settings — from NHS and community spaces to universities and leadership environments — using voice as a powerful, evidence-informed tool for regulation, expression, and healing.

I am passionate about helping healthcare systems and professionals move beyond talking about wellbeing, into embodied, relational practice that can be felt, shared, and sustained.

I am interested in how creative practices can support nurses & healthcare professionals to look after themselves and each other. As a Senior Nurse and Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA), I use and create visual resources within restorative clinical supervision, and I am keen to explore the growing evidence base around creativity, wellbeing, reflection and burnout prevention.

My own creative practice includes digital illustration, watercolour, sketch-noting and slow creative hobbies such as crochet, embroidery and gardening.

Working with unregistered carers in care homes under the Enhanced Health in Care Homes remit across North and East Devon.

I am especially interested in creative health approaches around End-of Life care, spiritual care, rurality, community and embodiment.
