The 5 number summary tells us that the median of the 50 years was $1.11. The lowest that gas has been in the past 50 years is $0.31. One-fourth of the gas prices have been under $0.64. Three-fourths of the gas prices have been under $1.46. The highest that gas has ever been in the past 50 years is $3.55.

We chose to research that change in gas prices because we all drive and therefore need gas for our car. Gas prices affect anyone who drives. The data set showed that overall, gas prices have gradually increased over the years. We expected to see this trend on the graph. Nothing on the graph surprised us.

The graphs all look different even though they are all using the same data. The histogram and pie chart use the same frequencies, however the data is shown in a different manner. The line graph and the histogram look completely different because the line graph is using the data as a whole. The histogram has the data shown through the frequencies. The box plot is the only graph that specifically shows the 5 number summary.

The line graph and the histogram both show how the data is skewed. The histogram and the pie chart both show frequencies. The histogram and the line graph also show the "peaks and valleys." The boxplot and histogram both show outliers, but in different ways. In our opinion, the line graph is the best data set because it shows the increase in prices over the years better than the other graphs.
