In the North, climate change has caused decreased weather predictability, melting permafrost, increased incidence of freezing rain, decreased snowfall in some regions, warmer weather, increased incidence of landslides and the decreased availability and quality of freshwater.

Our world is warming, we all know this.

Some say it will be the death of us as when the world simply gets “too hot” we will all cease to exist and i can't blame those who believe this theory, with time lapse simulations showing the arctic circle losing more and more of its glaciers and average temperatures rising each year the problem is becoming ever more apparent.

I looked over a few sites regarding climate change in the NWT, all statistics showing a rise in summer temperatures as well as warmer winters.

I choose the NWT Government website as it gave me some reliable numbers and graphs. An overview of the observation would conclude with a rise in average temperature in four different communities ultimately raising the average temp in the territory

NWT average : 2.4°+

Fort Smith average : 2.5°+

Inuvik average : 3.0°+

Norman Wells : 2.0°+

Yellowknife : 2.0°+

All in all we see “+” alongside each temperature meaning a solid rise in annual temperature within the NWT..not good.
